Preetom Bhattacharya/Hoopsworld lists Kevin Love at #4 on his list of the top 6 rookies this season.
Scouts in Las Vegas were salivating over Love's ability to throw an outlet pass – it was kind of funny, to be honest. Although the outlet pass is going to be used often as a weapon for the Wolves' breakout, Love's game is much more than that and he is possibly one of the most NBA-ready prospects seen in many years. His post game is refined and he has serious range on his jump shot. The Timberwolves are set to start Love beside Al Jefferson, who is on the verge of becoming an All-Star, and the two should be able to co-exist because of Love's more versatile style. Love will grab plenty of rebounds and might just average a double-double if things work out his way.

The Wolves will travel to Billings, Mont. on Wednesday to face-off against Oklahoma City in the first of two U.S. Bank Classics. The second U.S. Bank Classic is held in Bismark, N.D. on Sunday, Oct. 19 against Denver.

For now, Ollie's job is to prove to Wittman that he can play a limited number of minutes in relief of Foye and Telfair -- he played three minutes in Monday's preseason-opening rout of Milwaukee -- and, perhaps more important, offer guidance and wisdom.
"He's already done that in the short time he has been here," Wittman said. "He's done a lot of tutoring, especially with Randy and Bassy, telling them the things they need to do. That's what I'm looking for: a guy who has been around the block. A guy who has played a lot of minutes, who has not played a lot of minutes. He has been a guy who has been through it all, and I think he can help those guys foresee what lies ahead."

Corey Brewer's website on a trip the player made back to him hometown of Portland, Tennessee:
Brewer like anyone else still likes to go inside the local McDonalds to get lunch and grab a Big Mac and to visit with people inside the restaurant.
Corey takes the time to pose for pictures and to sign a few autographs for the kids that are playing in the kid zone.
The smile that he carries with him is that of a child that would be playing in the kid's area at the local restaurant.
He is the same as always with that smile that most toothpaste companies would kill for in there television commercials.

Collins is expected to travel to Los Angeles Tuesday to see his doctor for a check-up on his elbow, which is recovering from surgery after that golf-cart accident last month. Collins still is expected out until after the Oct. 29 regular-season opener.

The Wolves are 70-70 all time in exhibition play, including a 3-5 mark last season.

Timberwolves coach Randy Wittman wasn't too giddy after watching his team rout the Bucks.
"It doesn't matter," Wittman said. "This isn't a game of wins and losses. This is a practice for us. We've beat up ourselves for the last week.
"No, it doesn't matter. We know Bogut, (Charlie) Bell, (Joe) Alexander, Ridnour, Jefferson didn't play very much. This score doesn't do anything."
