Based on Date For Life's website and telelvision commercial, it appears as if Mark Madsen is one of the "Twin Cities' most eligible bachelors" who will be auctioned off to benefit Children's Cancer Research Fund.

Also on Sunday, Rashad McCants didn’t practice because he still had some fluid on the elbow he slightly hyperextended in Friday’s loss at Denver. Forward Craig Smith did. Randy Wittman called McCants’ condition”day-to-day” and said he wasn’t certain if McCants would play Tuesday in Chicago. Smith is expected to be ready after missing two games because his surgically repaired knee swelled on a flight to Montana.

Center Calvin Booth participated in the full practice, but Harrison (calf), forward Brian Cardinal (calf) and center Jason Collins (elbow) remain sidelined.

Booth, who practiced fully on Sunday, is the closest of the three centers to returning but also could be bought out of his contract before the Oct. 29 opener because of his age (32), his contract (one year remaining at $1.14 million) and his hurting back...

Wittman also said both of his frontcourt building blocks -- star forward Al Jefferson, still recovering from a sprained knee ligament, and rookie Kevin Love -- must get in better shape. Sunday's practice featured plenty of running.

As for the Timberwolves, I'm not going to write too much about games I don't see. But the loss to Denver with Love and Jefferson in the same frontcourt is hardly a surprise. Even if the ballclub was weary, as coach Randy Wittman said, the Nugs sat Melo and don't have Camby and still put up 60 points in the paint while outscoring Minnesota 31-10 in fast break points--and this with a dual point backcourt of Bassy and Foye.
