Interesting that Wolves boss Kevin McHale is here on the trip, on a holiday weekend, no less. What does it mean? We’ll see…

The Thunder fired P.J. Carlesimo a week ago tonight and replaced him with assistant Scott Brooks, the former Wolves guard from so long ago. Brooks theoretically has until season’s end to prove that the job should be his. Since then, Washington fired coach Eddie Jordan. ’tis the season, I suppose…

The Twins performed the best among the four local professional-sports franchises in a survey of 300 Minnesota sports fans that looked at a wide range of factors, including entertainment value, ownership, player likability and commitment to winning. The Minnesota Wild narrowly edged out the Minnesota Vikings for second place, while the Minnesota Timberwolves finished a distant fourth.

Nationally, the Twins ranked 34th among all 122 teams in the four major professional-sports leagues. The Wild placed 51st, the Minnesota Vikings were 53rd and the Minnesota Timberwolves came in 115th.

The index measures the strength of a team’s brand within its home market, so only local fans rated the Minnesota teams. The national rankings indicate how a team is viewed within its home market compared to how other teams are viewed within their respective markets.

Al Jefferson is a used to serving up dunks on a nightly basis for the Wolves. On Monday night, Jefferson served up a Thanksgiving style dinner to a mixture of Purple Heart recipients from World War II, Vietnam, and Iraq at the View Restaurant in Minneapolis. The complete Wolves roster and coaching staff joined Jefferson in an extremely important event for the organization.

"Tonight's event is really the culmination of a lot of things we do during the month of November, where we really honor the troops, the servicemen and women who have served in our country in some conflict starting with WWII all the way up to today's conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan," team president Chris Wright said.
