From Stop-n-Pop/Canis Hoopus- Updating the Draft Board

Ben Woodside, the leading scorer in North Dakota State men’s basketball history, found out Sunday that he will get NBA tryouts with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets.

According to his agent Mark Bartelstein, it will be the first of many tryouts to be scheduled.

From Leah Rado/The Daily Republic (click here for the picture):
Mount Vernon native and Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway played host to the Chad Greenway 2009 NFL Draft Party Saturday afternoon at Blarney’s Sports Bar & Grill, and he didn’t come to Mitchell alone. Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Miller, a Mitchell native, was also present, as were UFC fighters Ryan Bader and CB Dolloway.

The four talked to a full house and Greenway spent plenty of time signing pictures, footballs, jerseys and shirts for fans young and old.

The two did a live radio broadcast and talked with KMIT’s Tim Smith about everything from Miller’s new hair color to the NFL draft to the Timberwolves and what this season was like for Miller and his teammates.

Miller, who shocked the crowd by showing up with bleach-blonde hair, joked that he did it as part of a bet with Greenway. He said Greenway promised to tell the crowd who the Vikings would draft if Miller dyed his hair.
