Like the Timberwolves, who had Brian Cardinal making phone calls to ask for renewals. Other players, including Craig Smith, surprised season ticket holders by visiting their homes.

"In today's world, you've got to communicate with your fans. And the product are the players who are representing your brand on the court," said Vikings President Chris Wright.

The announcement of the GM selection for the Timberwolves could come as early as mid-week.

Collins was also a critical component on the practice floor and provided a physical presence for rookie Kevin Love to battle during the season. The 7-year veteran made an impact off the court with several appearances for the Wolves Fastbreak Foundation. Collins will now enter free agency this offseason after one year in Minnesota.

One of the best deals in professional sports is back for a second season as the Timberwolves today announced the return of the "Pay the Pick" promotion in anticipation of next month's NBA Draft Lottery. Featuring a new NBA Sampler ticket package that includes one game against each of the NBA's 29 other teams, fans will have the opportunity to see all of the league's brightest stars for as little as $1 per game.

With this season's "Pay the Pick" promotion, fans will be able to pre-order this unique 29-game ticket package at a price corresponding to the team's first-round draft selection (as low as $1 per seat per game for the 29-game package, and capped at $6 per seat per game). Minnesota's draft position will be determined at the 2009 NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday, May 19. The Wolves have a 7.6% chance of earning the top overall pick and a 25.5% chance of being among the top three selections.
