Mark Rosen/WCCO talked to David Kahn last night about why he wanted the job of the team's president of basketball operation, the status of Kevin McHale as head coach, and the Wolves' draft needs (video).

David Aldridge told NBA TV's Rick Kamla last week that he "hears" the Timberwolves are "trying real hard to move up to 2 so that they can take Thabeet" in the draft (video)

President of basketball operations David Kahn met with the media following the Saturday morning workout. The Wolves front office staff is gearing up for a busy two weeks in preparation for the draft.

"I feel like with every passing day, we are getting on top of it. And I guess I'm specifically speaking of me, since I'm the one who is in the catch-up mode but with each passing day, it's getting better."

Kahn reacted to the report that Davidson shooting guard Stephen Curry canceled his scheduled workout with the Wolves next week.

"I think that in his case, he has such a long body of work because he has been in college for a few years and we saw him in Chicago. We interviewed him in Chicago, so it's not as if we are missing an interview with him. I would feel in his case that we at least have a lot of information already. It would be more problematic if it were somebody we didn't know as well."
