With the Kevin McHale decision resolved and the coaching search for his replacement on hold, the Timberwolves will turn their attention back to the NBA draft Friday when they bring in seven point-guard prospects for workouts.

UCLA's Jrue Holliday and Syracuse's Jonny Flynn will join North Carolina's Ty Lawson, Wake Forest's Jeff Teague, Brandon Jennings of Italy and Nando De Colo of France in a group morning workout.

Memphis guard Tyreke Evans will have an individual workout in the afternoon.



Looks like DeMar DeRozan’s solo workout has been been pushed to early next week.

Checked with someone close to Thabeet to see if the Wolves are going to get a look at him and was told he won’t work out for the Wolves but might do a meet-and-greet with them.



"It's Twitter," Love said today from Los Angeles. "It's a new day, a new age. Everybody's doing the Twitter thing. Am I upset that I did it? I could have held my tongue a little bit, but basketball's an emotional game, life's emotional so I just acted on my emotions and kind of spit it out there."

Love said he posted the tweet early Wednesday morning without thinking after McHale called him and center Al Jefferson to let him know he wouldn't be back.

"Obviously, it was an emotional time for me just because Mac was the one who got me to Minnesota," Love said. "He took over as the coach and helped me take my game to the next level. Not having him back and having him around, it's tough because he's one of the best if not the best power forward to play the game. It's tough for me, but that's just part of the business. Hopefully, the next guy who comes in will do just as good a job."



Just got off the phone with the Wolves’ Mark Madsen for a Page 2 Q&A. We’ll save some of the fun for print, but a couple of things Madsen said where more newsy. Like many players seem to be, Madsen is taking the news of Kevin McHale’s departure pretty hard. “Surprised, and shocked. To be honest, I was disappointed,” Madsen said when describing how he felt.

Later, he was asked for thoughts on what kind of coach the Wolves should pursue. Mind you, we weren’t even looking for a specific name. But Madsen brought up an intriguing one: Brian Shaw.



From the for what it's worth department - Ron Tillery, beat writer for the Grizz, said on his radio show this morning that Kahn is targeting Mike Fratello (former Cavs and Grizz head coach) as the next coach for the Wolves. Tillery said he had this from multiple sources and may put it in print after some more follow up. I'm sure I'll get flamed for posting this - but Ron's pretty well connected and typically doesn't go off half cocked. I also hope for y'all's sake the the information is incorrect.



One guy who doesn't want to coach the Minnesota Timberwolves is Tubby Smith.
