From Ken Berger/CBS Sports:
- Ricky Rubio's agent, Dan Fegan, met with Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor Monday to get acquainted and attempt to resolve the logjam that has the Spanish point guard almost certainly headed back to Spain for at least a year or two.

Nothing was decided at two separate meetings at the COX Pavilion during summer league play, and a resoolution is not imminent, according to a person familiar with the meetings. Minnesota thus far has resisted any overtures aimed at trading Rubio to a team that he'd be willing to join immediately.

Timberwolves GM David Kahn reiterated that he is prepared to be "extremely patient" with Rubio, "even if it means waiting a year or two."

Plan to have @kevin_love on the show Tues. What would YOU ask him that he hasn't been asked before? (may use your ideas on air)

From Howlin' T-Wolf: Early Summer League Howls

Funniest moment of the day came before the first ball was tipped. In the opening introductions of the Timberwolves-D-League Select team, Wayne Ellington was introduced as hailing from Duke. As Ellington trotted onto the floor, he did a double-take -- Whaaa?! -- then cracked a big smile as the public address announcer corrected himself, noting that Ellington went to North Carolina. "That was ridiculous!" Ellington said of the PA's snafu. "I had to go over and say something to the guy."

From Matthew Hayden/Bleacher Report: Jonny Flynn and Ellington Show Promise Despite Two Losses in Two D-League Games

From the Timberwolves site:
On Monday, Minnesota suffered its second straight defeat in Summer League action with a 96-91 loss to the NBA D-League Select team.

The Wolves utilized a fast-pace attack to build a 10-point lead at halftime as Wayne Ellington displayed a well-rounded game. Ellington led all scorers with 22 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the floor.

“Yesterday, I think I just had some jitters in the first game,” Ellington said. “Today I came out and played a lot morecalm and played my game. I feel pretty good right now. I would like to win games, I’m not used to losing so that's what is tough for me but I’m getting better with the NBA game.”

WAYNE ELLINGTON and Gerald Henderson are playing together again.

No, you didn't miss a trade announcement. The Timberwolves' Ellington and the Bobcats' Henderson - teammates at Episcopal Academy - are playing for Minnesota's NBA Summer League team thanks to a unique arrangement...

Ellington, a first-round pick out of North Carolina, is enjoying the arrangement.

"We were teammates in high school so it was cool to be on the same team again," Ellington said. "I wasn't expecting it, but it's a nice surprise."

Houston Rockets assistant Elston Turner has interviewed to become the next coach for the Timberwolves.

The interview took place Monday in Las Vegas and lasted a couple of hours, Turner told KRIV-TV in Houston.

Turner has worked as an assistant in Sacramento and Portland and was a candidate for the Phoenix Suns coaching job last year. He is in Las Vegas coaching the Rockets' summer league team.

Rookie point guard Jonny Flynn scored 12 points and had 14 assists, and fellow rookie Wayne Ellington had 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting, but the Wolves lost their second game in a row Monday in the Las Vegas Summer League, 96-91 to an NBA Development League team. The Wolves end summer league play with games Friday (Washington), Saturday (New Orleans) and Sunday (Chicago).
