In the latest episode of the Ricky Rubio soap opera, the Spanish newspaper El Periodico is reporting that the frustrated point guard has informed his current Spanish team of his intention to fulfill the final two years of his contract.

The report goes on to note, however, that Rubio's future with DKV Joventut is far from assured, given that team president Jordi Villacampa issued a statement last week that the player's career with the club obviously has ended.

This careening Rubio story - now sez he'll stay w Joventut til '11 - is more buyout posturing. Prediction: He'll be w/ #Timberwolves by Oct

Friday came and went without word of a news conference to announce Rambis, who turned down Sacramento's job offer in June and is believed to be seeking a four-year contract worth at least $2 million a year.

If he receives those four years, it'd be one year longer than President of Basketball Operations David Kahn's contract.

The two sides were believed to be close to agreement late Thursday night.
