Timberwolves President David Kahn hopes to add some players to the roster in the near future.

"Now that I'm back, what will be doing over the next few days is try to assemble or finish the roster," Kahn said. "There is still a lot of very fine players out there that are free agents, and now we want to address some of our needs, now that the [Ricky] Rubio situation has resolved itself, at least for the next couple years. I think that there will be several moves. I wouldn't call them major moves, but I think that we still have some things to address on the roster in advance of training camp."

The Timberwolves will open training camp Sept. 28 in Mankato.

Aran Smith/NBA Draft.net posts a Q&A with Tim Shea,  "International Coach and consultant with Ricky's Spanish representation Winnersfactory of Barcelona"
What mistakes were made by Rubio and his agent in this process?

Ricky made the mistake of being young. He has however the right to make mistakes being that that’s what young is all about. As to Mr. Dan Fegan I’ll say, Baseball may be our National pastime but Juventut showed that they know how to play hardball too. In these terms, Dan Fegan struck out. His approach and consequent “John Wayne” (guns a blazing) behavior with Jordi Villacampa (Honorable President of Juventut) created a confrontational atmosphere that was counter-productive and hostile situation. Juventut mind you is club with tradition, titles and even Euro-league titles and was founded in 1930! Fegan being a law graduate and obviously successful businessman does get permission to disrespect institutions and solid, professional people. The Euro-League, the ACB and all it’s people are no less than NBA people. Furthermore, trying to bulldog in a foreign country, while unaware of it’s laws, is foolhardy and useless. There was the mistake.

I’m not too sure that Fegan and assoc. will like what is written here and it is not meant to do harm, it’s what happened. My only thought is that in the future it might be wise to follow this law: “When in Rome do as the Romans do”.

ESPN.com NBA insider Chad Ford breaks down the Ricky Rubio debacle in Minnesota with Bill Simmons. Plus, JackO talks baseball and shares some old college stories.

The selection of Rubio at the very least reminded many of us that there is major professional basketball in the Twin Cities. Sports fans in this area – when they weren’t talking about Brett Favre – were talking Timberwolves in August. Ask Kevin Garnett when the last time people were talking about the Wolves this time of year.

And as team president David Kahn admits, if there’s any team that can wait for Rubio, it’s the Timberwolves.
