Wolves record: 1-6

Minnesota (1-6) dropped its sixth consecutive game. The Timberwolves have lost nine straight games to the Blazers, and eight consecutive in Portland.

After intermission, the Blazers pushed the lead to as many as 25 points on a night when the Wolves tried to compensate for the loss of injured Kevin Love -- watching with that broken hand in his own hometown -- by calling upon big men Ryan Hollins and Nathan Jawai in an unsuccessful attempt to counter Portland's size, length and athleticism.

Roy, who averaged 24.5 points a game in four games last season against the Wolves, made only one of five shots and scored only two points Sunday.

The lone bright spot for Minnesota was big man Nathan Jawai, who came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Spelling Jefferson (12 points, 10 rebounds) as the all-star forward continues his deliberate comeback from a series knee injury, Jawai demonstrated he could be a suitable option inside.
