Click here for the forum's thread for tonight's game against Houston

Game previews:

Yesterday, we reported that Kevin Love would undergo X-rays on his surgically repaired finger on Friday. The power forward said he was not quite sure of the date for his next check up but anticipates a return to the floor soon.

"I've been shooting with the team a little bit, running through some plays, doing a lot more stuff, so hopefully on Friday we get the X-rays back. I don't know when it's going to happen, if we have them scheduled for this week, so hopefully that will be the time and I will be back."

From Ray Richardson/Pioneer Press:
With no intention of making a major trade this season, Kahn believes the Wolves could be as much as $20 million below next year's cap, which has yet to be determined.

Miller's $9.78 million income for this season was the highest salary moved by Kahn. Miller also had expressed a desire to leave, and Kahn was determined to build solid chemistry on the roster in addition to a more economical payroll.

"Miller and Foye were a little ahead of some of the guys we picked up, but you can't keep adding players without eliminating some," Kahn said. "Specifically to Miller and Foye, their long-term future with us was in doubt. If we kept both, we wouldn't have the cap room we have now."

From Jerry Zgoda/Star Tribune:Timberwolves: Mysterious Triangle
Whatever you call it, Rambis calls the elements he has borrowed from Jackson -- who has won a record 10 NBA titles with an offense he learned from old-timer Tex Winter -- just a "small part of what we do" and estimates its inclusion at "less than 20 percent" of his team's offense.

Just don't tell that to his players, whose heads have twirled learning a style of play -- a passing offense predicated on the anachronistic notions of ball movement, self-sacrifice and reactive team play -- unlike any they've known all their lives.

"I think it is a triangle," rookie point guard Jonny Flynn said. "If you look at the Lakers and what they do, it's almost the exact same thing. They might run it a little differently because of the players they have and they're so used to running it. You wouldn't understand how complicated it is, especially for a guy like me who's used to his whole life being a guy off the bounce."

From Jonah Ballow/Timberwolves site:
"Nathan has impressed the coaching staff from day one," Rambis said. "He's very light on his feet, he can move well, he understands the game. He was doing a lot of his stuff tonight against very good centers in this league," Rambis said following the Portland game.

Intelligent basketball fans will see the innate abilities from Jawai. However, Wolves fans should take notice of the engaging personality out of their new big man in the post. President of basketball of operations David Kahn has already signed up for the fan club.

"He seems to have a really sweet personality, gentle at least off the floor and he seems really happy all the time. You know, he seems happy to be here and I like that." Kahn said.
