Wolves record: 1-12

Portland rallied after falling behind early in the second half. Roy scored 11 points, and the Blazers went on a 16-0 run to open up the fourth. The Wolves managed just three field goals in the final quarter.

Al Jefferson led the Wolves with 20 points and 10 rebounds in his second game back with the team after the death of his grandmother. Oleksiy Pecherov had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The loss was Minnesota's 12th straight since defeating New Jersey on opening night 3 1/2 weeks ago, and the 2009-10 Wolves are perilously close to becoming infamous before the first snow flies.

The Wolves (1-12), who fell to 0-6 on the road, are a Monday loss to the Clippers away from matching the 13-game losing streak last season's squad had to stumble into the record book. Losing in Los Angeles also would equal the 1994-95 team for worst start in franchise history.

"I don't know about the cumulative effect (of losing)," forward Ryan Gomes said. "I just know we need a win."

Afterward, Rambis praised his players, who he said played "really, really well for tremendous stretches." Asked whether he had seen progress from their first two games against Portland, he answered, "Absolutely."

When Al Jefferson was asked the same question, he stared blankly, then said, "We lost by 30. We played good into the second half, then we couldn't score no more in the third quarter. We couldn't make no shots."

Each of the Wolves' last eight losses has been by 10 points or more, or an average of 20.6 points in those eight games.
