Wolves Updates 12/1 Part 2 E-mail

From Jerry Zgoda/Star Tribune:
Kevin Love has participated in some portions of contact practice the last two days and will be re-evaluated by doctors tomorrow or Thursday.

Kurt Rambis said conditioning will be Love’s biggest issue and didn’t indicate that a return to game action is imminent (like, this week).

Love was injured in the preseason and has not played at all this season. Coach Kurt Rambis said Tuesday that he was encouraged to see the second-year player go through some contact drills in practice.

Rambis says Love is in pretty good shape, but still has a ways to go before he is ready to handle the bumping and banging that can quickly wear down a player who has been out for a long stretch.

From Chad Ford/ESPN: Never too early to talk lottery scenarios
Turner would fill a glaring hole at the wing for the Wolves, but the question is, if the Wolves get the No. 1 pick, would they take him that high?

I did a little snooping around Minnesota and I think Wall would still get the nod there. There would be a robust trade market for Flynn and/or Rubio if the Wolves were to take Wall.

From John Hollinger/ESPN: Wolves worse than winless Nets
Nonetheless, all the attention on the misery at the Meadowlands shouldn't distract us from the horrors in the Great North. The Timberwolves rate among the very worst teams in history through their first 17 games ... so bad, in fact, that by many metrics they've been worse than the team on its way to the worst start in history.

From Wyn at Canis Hoopus: Alternate Realities in the Timberwolves' Universe

For the first time in his career, Brewer is working to restructure his jumper. Fans may see inconsistency in Brewer's field goal percentage but the shooting guard is spending countless hours with the coaching staff.

"We believe he can be a very good open shooter," Rambis said. "With his speed and ability to attack the basket, if you make those open shots then people run at you and then you pump fake, now you can get inside the interior of the defense. It's those concepts that he is trying to develop and break that habit that he had of always leaning back."

Brewer is beginning to see the results of a focused approach to shooting, "I'm feeling better, I had a couple of pretty good games, I only had one game where I didn't shoot it well, so it's working. It's all about staying on balance; the balance is the main thing on my shot."

The owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves and a Minneapolis publisher are holding off on becoming part owners of the Star Tribune for now, but haven't ruled out another bid.
