Trading Kevin Garnett for 25 Cents on the Dollar
Written by Derek Hanson
Thursday, 07 December 2006

While surfing the net, I stumbled upon an article on SI.com by Chris Mannix touting several trades that the Timberwolves could make to “Free KG”.  It was easily the second-worst sports reporting I’ve seen in months.  (The honor of “worst” goes, without question, to Scoop Jackson’s blatant plagiarizing of YAYsports’ “Orange Roundie”.)

Mike James: "We Really Are A Good Team"
Written by Derek Hanson
Wednesday, 06 December 2006

Note:  This article appears on The Minnesota Timberwolves Den at DeROK.Net (And it was written before the Wolves beat the Rockets.  Yup, positivity goes a long way…)

After the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the 76ers to pull their lackluster record to 7-9, the Wolves broadcast team conducted an interview with point guard Mike James.  It was your typical post-game chat; nothing really special. But amongst the usual cliche’s an congratulations, was a comment by Mike James that really stuck with me.

My Worst Nightmare - Kevin Garnett to the Lakers
Written by Derek Hanson
Sunday, 03 December 2006

First off, I’d like to mention that I don’t cook up these trade scenarios because I feel bad for Kevin Garnett.  I honestly think no title would ever mean as much to his legacy as playing his entire career in Minnesota.  I also don’t look at these things because I want to see him gone.  It would be like a stab to the heart if I ever turned on my computer and saw that headline across ESPN.com’s front page.

Marko Jaric Loses Shirt, Timberwolves Lose Game
Written by Derek Hanson
Saturday, 02 December 2006

Before I talk about tonight’s dismal performance by the Timberwolves, I’d like to say thank you to Marko “The Gigolo” Jaric for making me laugh.  On a night where the Wolves embarrassed themselves with a 14-point loss (It was even more mismatched than the score suggests) to the Denver Thuggets, Jaric was the lone player who gave me something to smile about.  His backwards jersey antics and that halfcourt shot he made at the end of the first quarter were the only two things keeping me from skinning myself and taking a bath in lemon juice.  It’s safe to say that Marko is now officially my favorite Eastern European.  (My apologies to Dolph Lundgren.)

The Kevin Garnett Trade Revisited
Written by Derek Hanson
Saturday, 25 November 2006

The general consensus about the Kevin Garnett trade I proposed yesterday was that the Bulls were giving up way too much and that they wouldn’t part ways with Kirk Hinrich.  In my near tunnel vision for the T-Wolves, I hadnt’ realized that Hinrich had become such a valuable commodity.  So here’s the trade, changed up a bit.

If the Timberwolves Played in the WNBA…
Written by College Wolf

A comparison of Timberwolves players to various “Types” of chicks. This is not meant to offend, just to be funny!

Kevin Garnett is the incredibly hot chick with the loser boyfriend. She is all around hot. Nice body, nice personality, but has some ugly, loser boyfriend that keeps holding her back.

Kevin Garnett: There Goes My Hero
Written by Derek Hanson
Friday, 24 November 2006
Too alarming now to talk about,
Take your pictures down and shake it out,
Truth or consequence, say it aloud,
Use that evidence, race it around

There goes my hero,
Watch him as he goes,
There goes my hero,
He’s ordinary.

TWolvesBlog.com Message Board Now Open!
Written by Derek Hanson
Saturday, 18 November 2006

After a lot of hard work, the TWolvesBlog.com Forum is up and running! I hope you like what you see, but if you have any suggestions, let me know. Also, there’s chance that there still may be a bug or two that needs to be ironed out, so if you see any errors, let me know. The purpose of this forum is for all Timberwolves fans to speak their minds and just have a good time chatting about the Wolves, the NBA, NFL, and whatever else they’d like to. The goal is fun, and I’m going to do eveything in my power to make sure this board stays that way.

Musings of a Wolves Fan…
Written by College Wolf
Wednesday, 15 November 2006
I had an article almost completed detailing possible trade destinations for KG this season, and what we could reasonably expect to receive in return. However, the more I typed and considered each possibility, the more depressed I became. We shouldn’t trade KG. I don’t want to trade KG. We can’t trade KG.
