My intention is to get over here at least every other day. I had no idea that so much would be going on. It seemed like every time I was about to do a blog post that something else would pop up and I would want to see where that was going before I posted. As soon as I was ready to post about that something else would come across my radar. What a week.

The coaching changes have had an impact on the Buckeyes. I don't know if any program was more impacted by the Notre Dame, USC and Florida madness than the Buckeyes. I regret not having more scholarships. Fans are asking, are the Buckeyes going after these recruits? I think they would love to. Don't have the scholarships. I bet there are ten kids, ten elite kids, no comments

The amount of hand wringing and finger pointing around Buckeye Nation is ridiculous. The staff didn't "lose" anyone. They fought as hard as the could for Floyd. He didn't come this way. As far as Andersons is concerned, how did the staff lose a kid with academic issues? What were they supposed to do about the fact that Anderson either could not get in or a conclusion was reached that he was going to have a hard time staying in? Did you see him make his commitment yesterday? All the other kids were smiling and saluting their new school. He looked like there was a gun to his head. I get accused of being negative. I am a realist and you get it from me straight no chaser. Forget about Ohio State. Georgia offered. Miami offered. Anderson "chose" WVa over Miami and Georgia in addition to Ohio State? If you believe that you are just choosing to be negative. Lets not forget the concerns about this no comments

No explanation needed. Here are highlights from the big game.

What a day. Especially coming off the biggest win in a couple of years. We get news today that Cam Heyward has made it official. He will return. Chimdi Chekwa announced he was returning. I would have called it a great day just with those two announcements but we got a huge verbal. Jon Hankins has issued a verbal to the Buckeyes.

Heyward coming back is huge. I would argue he is the most important recruit in the class. Getting a first round caliber DL back is always a good thing but in this case it sets the stage for the future. It allows the Buckeyes to keep Simon at defensive tackle. It allows Fellows to find his game without the pressure of having to perform as the starter. It allows J.T. Moore to redshirt. It allows us to keep our two best tackles on the field in Larimore and Simon. It allows Bellamy to find his way at tackle.

Hankins is a huge get in my mind. I was always impressed with this kid. He did not have a no comments

Yesterday I said this would come down to the coaches. I think we were the better team going in. Oregon having the better athletes was absurd. The staff deserves all the credit for letting this team play. We got after it. Masoli had game stats that looked like his quarter stats versus Pac-10 defenses. The Big Ten gets hammered by the college football press. When are they going to call out the Pac-10 for the lack of good defenses? I want to ask another question of the college football press. Where dat 50? Several of you said Oregon was going to have half a century on us. Those that did that showed a very anti-Big Ten or an anti-Ohio State bias, or you just don't know what you are talking about. Like I said yesterday, you are not a serious person if you actually believed this defense was going to give up 50.

The buck stops at the head coaches desk. He has to take the crap so he must also get the praise. JT took the shackles off Pryor and it showed. I have been one of Terrelle Pryors biggest defenders. I don't think I am going to have to defend him anymore. 27 of 37 for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was mechanically sound all night and seemed to feel comfortable in a way I can't say I have seen him before. no comments

I woke up this morning at 7AM fired up. I went to bed angry so fired up is better. I cleared my head after all the Big Ten/Ohio State dumping I have heard basically since the Rose Bowl match-up was set. So often I believe Buckeye fans are off base with the belief that Ohio State gets treated badly by the media. This time Buckeye fans are right.

How can you possibly believe that Oregon is going to win this game??? They are faster? Where? Show me. Maybe they are quicker in the offensive line but that is the nature of their offense. The one that kills me is how many people are saying Oregon is going to hang 50 on the Buckeyes. Based on what, the 47 they laid on USC? That doesn't seem to be a very hard thing to do. Running up 40 points on a

Josh Shaw is sticking with his commitment to Florida and it is for the right reasons. He pick the school and the city as much as the coach. That is the way it should be done. The NCAA argues that players are committing to a school, not a coach, when the discussion about whether players should be let out of their LOIs should a coaching change occur. Good luck to him.

Other verbals that we would be concerned with are not so ready to see what happens in Gainesville. Matt Elam has been hard to track down. If anyone has a report on him I am unaware of it. I have learned since all this started that Elam likely yielded to family pressure to commit to Urban Meyer more than Florida. There was some chatter about his brother wanting him to visit Ohio State all through the year. He did not take an official though. Yes, no comments

There is a good bit of chatter out there about Urban Meyer and a posible future at Ohio State. I have argued that Ohio State is the one job that he would leave Florida for. Home state, first coaching job was in this state, first college job was at Ohio State. I think it is possible. I now would say it was possible.

I think he could be done. With what is not coming out about his heart condition I think he is odds on to never coach again. It is now coming out that he has had more visits to the hospital with chest pains since the first one that we are aware of. Before you ask, yes, the first visit was chest pains. You have to believe that cutting it back was considered. As much as this guy loves coaching you have to think options were explored that would allow him to keep no comments

Now that I have recovered from the shocking news that Urban Meyer has resigned, my thoughts go to the Buckeyes. I doubt any program outside of Florida itself is more impacted by this decision than the Buckeyes.

We have always heard about Texas with Jordan Hicks. My own sources say that Florida is the team the Buckeyes were most likely to lose Shaw to. Charlie Strong leaves, now Meyer leaves. Don't tell me this kid is still going to Florida. If he was that committed to Florida that no comments

It is game week. Not to mention I have to get back to posting daily and stopping in several times a day as there are mischief makers out there that can't be allowed to get away with controlling the flow of information.

I want to touch on something that gives you some insight into just how important recruiting close to home is. Just how basic it is but how important. If you are not aware of the Cordale Scott situation, he has left Illinois and transferred to Toledo. For those that don't remember, he was the big athlete from Glenville who is the only Glenville player in the Tressel era to have a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes and chose to go elsewhere. I am going to go out on a limb and based on his current situation I bet he would make a different decision today. One of the etched in stone rules of recruiting is, recruiting is local. Most players come from instate. no comments
