They Did It.
Regardless of how you feel about the trade, Kevin Garnett has been the face of Minnesota professional basketball for 12 years. He was my Idol as a child, and I have met him a few times every year since I was 8 years old. To say I am ecstatic that he could finally win an NBA championship is an understatement, as he always gave his all for this team, and if you actually went to games that he played in (besides early morning games) he always hustled more than anyone else on the court. For a guy that single handedly turned Minnesota basketball into something worth talking about, I can in no way feel remorse about how he left, and I feel like all the other hardcore wolf fans feel exactly the same way. Yes, his contract may have hindered our chances at fielding a better team, but by how much? I mean almost every team only has the MLE and LLE to convince guys to join their team, and we had that same chance. If McHale Doesnt do the under the table deal losing a ridiculous amount of draft picks, or marbury doesnt force a trade, or even if Spree thought about letting his kids starve for a night, its possible that great things could have happened for KG here, but with the way things played out, it was time to let the man go. He was more loyal to this team than any basketball player is to any team in the NBA, which in a small market is a huge accomplishment. KG finally got the team we wanted him to be on this year, and even though it was in Boston, it feels like one of us has finally done it.
With that, I say Congrats Kevin, and thank you for the most entertaining 12 seasons in Minnesota basketball history.

Fellas, Its been awhile since I’ve come on here, mainly due to work and my sudden decision to get myself in high school/early college shape. Getting in really good shape, even 6 years later – sucks.
But alas, KG has his ring and you all have voiced all that needs to be said about the Celtics and Mr. Garnett. To be honest, after my nonstop “KG has a ring” love fest began to die down, I was still a bit perturbed that he really only put together 2 “KG” games out of 6 during the finals. He was probably 3rd in Finals MVP voting, after a season of being 1st. The only way to rectify this is for Posey to return, Ainge to find a replacement for PJ (Preferably a younger, better version), and then, simply REPEAT. And then THREEPEAT. Then Ray and KG ride off into the sunset with a Finals MVP each. That’d be fine with the Daddy.
Off to the draft rumor sites…

Guys, I'm new to this blog. I live in the Boston area. I'm not here to be a wise guy or rub it in as I am a big TWolves fan.
I can't imagine longtime KG fans not being happy for the guy. I'd be the last person who could tell TWolves fans how hard the man works. Even his off games are not the result of being lazy.
KG is loved here. He ranks with Tom Brady and Big Papi as the most popular Boston athlete.
Great to see three old pros work together to win a title.
The TWolves will get better. They made some moves last night that should help.
Look at the lowly Knicks. They wasted the 6th pick on a Euro power-foward.I didn't see them getting better last night.
Go TWolves and hello to all the KG fans out your way. He is now a champion.

better - yup. Good? Nope. Nice try though. Congrats on the rings. We'll never see any banners raised here so KG's in Boston is good enough for me.

First off, welcome to the board Mr. Red Green. Good post.
Secondly, I agree with Daddy. We won't see any banners anytime soon (if ever), so we might as well all live vicariously through KG and the C's.
