Jamison is under contract for the next two years and at 18/7 he is doing his job. If he is a consistent scorer in the next 3 weeks that is likely enough for the Cavs to win a championship. And that will be enough to keep LeBron. In which case he is worth every penny.

Otherwise yeah... the Cavs have subscribed to the Wolves school of team building around a star.

This might need it's own thread but is there a more damning thing to a franchise than to have a regular season star who craps in the playoffs.

HoF off top of my head (no particular order)
1. Jason Terry
2. Mo Williams
3. Alex Rodriguez (last year doesn't let him off the hook)
4. Peja
5. Chris Webber

It just cripples a team and a fan base. GM's can't think objectively about these guys because they watch so many damn good games with the players each year.
Thank you for the baton Mr. Kidd - Pretty Ricky

That's sooooo true.

Barry Bonds was one of the all-time worst:

Bonds in his career had ONE postseason where he wasn't absolutely terrible, 2002, when he led the Giants to the World Series. Of course that was also at the height of his steroid use -- Bonds' averaged in the postseason .245/.433/.503. Further, Pujols has been playing in October 6 of his 9 years, as compared to Bonds' who only made it to October 7 times out of 22 seasons.

Everyone is really overreacting to the Celtics struggles over the last month. Titles are not won or lost in January. Pierce has been out and hobbled when in. Same with KG. They are only their top 2 players. When I read the ESPN NBA Power Ranks yesterday and saw the Raptors and Bobcats ahead of the Celtics...I mean come ON. ESPN, the overreacting hype machine...what a surprise. Anyway, the point is that when healthy and when in the playoffs, this team is a very very difficult beat and formidable opponent for anybody. So jump off the bandwagon if you want, but I would rather see Celts fan and the media nationwide show some sort of patience and discresion, these trade Ray Allen, the Celitcs run is over stories are wayyy overreactive. Things are always changing. Teams have ups and downs. It's a sprint, not a marathon. You get my point. Although i have to say Rasheed Wallace has been a complete waste of space all season. And Big Baby needs to get his ass in gear as well. Remember, Marquis Daniels is out. He's their 2nd primary ball handler, and a perimeter defensive lynchpin. IF they can all get healthy, sky is still the limit in 2010. Rant over.

Sorry, I had to. I am just so proud of this 2010 CELTICS playoff run. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

Bump.

Horrible performance in Game 6. Big Perk lost with a bummed knee. Lakers seemingly clicking on all cylinders.

Who cares?

The Celtics are far from dead. They'll rally around Perk being out. Rondo will go into best-PG-in-the-NBA mode. KG will soften Pao. Ray will step up when he needs to like he did when it counted in '08. And PP will go shot-for-shot with Kobe. I'm not sure about Nate, but I think Baby is in for a big game. Sheed? I have no idea. Hopefully he can stay out of foul trouble and provide some size on the defensive end. Please no Sheldon Parker.

It's all good fellas. The C's are going to bring it tonight.

I sure hope you are right, because Game 6 was brutal and depressing.

Here's hoping for an epic "turn back the clock" night from the Celtics Big 4 and Rasheed.

I cannot stop counting down the hours until the game tonite. The more I have thought about it today, the more I am really feeling a Celtics win. Remember boys, one game does not a playoff series make. Let the media overreact to the Game 6 debacle and Al Jeff's godson's father's injury all they want. The Lakers are soft, the Celtics have more gamers, and whenever the Celtics look down & out, that's when they rise up even higher than you thought possible.

The celtics team next year is going to be crazy being that like 7 guys could be leaving including Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

If the Celtics re-sign Ray Ray for anything more than somewhere around the vet minimum they are crazy.

He was absolutely awful except for Game 2. LVP. He might be done, not because he can't play anymore, but psychologically.

I was gonna come and post about this before I even saw this post form you. They'd be insane to resign Ray. I realize he was a big part of their team, but his best days are behind him. The Celtics will be best served rebuilding around Rondo, Perkins, and whatever else they can somehow get. For their sakes, I hope they don't resign PP to a max deal because that would be a huge mistake. The full rebuild should be on when KG's contract expires in two years. Yikes, that contract really blows for them now.

Funny thing is, I saw a blurb where Allen's agent thought Ray could get $8-$10 million on the open market this off-season, but he [wants to stay in Boston.] Hahahaha oh man, there's no way he'll get that. If so, that GM who signs him should be fired.
