No offence pal, but would you do me the favor to stop posting links that are longer than the chinese wall? It is really annoying that I will have to scroll left and right over and over again every time I will read this thread, because the posting window gets streched into eternity because it can't split the link...
You could easily solve this problem by just using a short term like "link to ESPN-Trade Machine" with the following syntax:
(url=www.zzz.com/)ESPN Trade Machine(/url) - just exchange round brackets with edgy ones.
Apreciations, pal

Could you please shorten the link by 7sixes for me, so that the window will have a normal size again?

Initially, the trade was rumored to feature Hassel and Davis for Jason Williams and Michael Doleac. But with Hassel already sent to Dallas, this trade isn't a possibility anymore.
Since our management isn't know for being a tough negotiator, it is likely that when a trade with Miami would happen, Miamis offer isn't going to change. Instead of demanding a player that has at least some value (like Udonis Haslem) they would surely swap our last tradeable asset (Ricky Davis) for some aging, injury-prone white players. If our management had at least some smarts, they probably could be able to force Miami Miami, who are really in need of a player like Davis, to take some of our trash in exchange for theirs, so it would also be a possibility to unload Blount on Miami in a trade ivolving Davis. But since McHale is usually srewing things up, I do expect that the missing piece in the trade that was originally rumored (Hassel) simply will be replaced by something that has at least some value for Miami and does the most damage to the T-Wolves...like Juwan Howard, who would welcome this trade to a...well, is Miami really a contender? I don't think so, but it comes close enough to probably satisfy Howard.
So the possible trades scenarios would look like that:
To Miami: Davis, Blount
To Minny: Williams, Doleac
-> desireable, because it would get us rid of Blount, but therefore unlikely.
To Miami: Davis, Howard
To Minny: Williams, Haslem
-> less desireable, because Haslem has three years remaining on his contract and he do have enough PFs to back up Jefferson in Smith and Richard, but Haslem is a serviceable player and a few years younger than Howard. But again, unlikely because McHale will never get Miami to give up something not-trash.
To Miami: Davis, Howard
To Minny: Williams, Doleac
-> least desireable, because we give up two players that other teams would find desireable for basically nothing. Therefore most likely to happen.
To Miami: Davis, Blount
To Minny: Williams, Haslem
-> most desireable, because we unload Blount, receive a legit player in Haslem and could still keep Howard to trade him and someone else in a two-for-one to some other team. It may sound unusual, but this trade would leave the Wolves with the longer end of the stick...therefore it won't happen...ever!
I would also like to reiterate the following statement:
I know that some people might think it would be smart to get Williams and Doleac, because both there contracts at a combined 9 Million $ run out at the end of the year, but like I have said many times before: Even if the Wolves created loads of salary cap room at some point in time, that would not help us a bit! No big name free agent will ever come to a rebuilding franchise without a hall-of-fame-player or at least an allstar point guard, with an inapt management and far from a sunny climate. History shows that such teams end up grossly overpaying for some mediocre player that will tie up their salary for eternity (just look at the Magic, and they are in Florida and have an up-and-coming star in Howard). If this team is only improving through trade and that leaves me shivering. Maybe we could package the expiring contracts of Doleac, Williams of Ratliff to trade for some big name player with a heavy contract at the deadline, but this would require a lot of cunning planning...so this is completely out of reach.
