wouldn't that be sweet. It does feel that we are only a PG away from being good.

With all these draft picks I really hope the wolves package them together to trade up for a PG like Ricky Rubio or Brandon Jennings.

It sure would solve a ton of problems if the Wolves could lock down Baron with the MLE. I'm not holding my breath though.

Thing is, if we just let Gomes walk in exchange for taking on Baron, our cap situation for 2010 would be nearly the same.

Baron, Big Al, Love, Foye, Brewer... At least 5-6 draft picks to make or trade by 2010 - Now you're talking about a team LeBron would legitimately have to consider signing with.

Again, a pipe dream, but Baron would change everything!

Although I think it would be sweet, I'm gonna go ahead and say there is no chance in hell Baron comes to minnesota. It's too cold for the cali boy.

Agreed. Even if we were a playoff team I couldn't see him coming here.

Yeah, it's just not happening.

On the other hand though, Philly signing Brand has give me some hope. Elton left LA (albeit the dysfunctional Clippers franchise) to go to Philly, which is from my experience the dirtiest city in America. It is also the home of Tom Thundstrom, for what that's worth. The weather isn't too nice in Philly and it's far from the national spotlight compared to LA, NY, Chicago, and Boston. Given the choice, I'd be in Minnesota in a heartbeat over Philly.

Point is, besides moving to the East which will make his life much easier, it's probably a downgrade in terms of lifestyle. I guess there's also the added benefit of some probable playoff success which always helps gain attention. I think that if the Wolves can get semi-competitive like Philly was in the next two seasons, we could see something similar. Some players are all in it for the cash and location. Others want to win.

We'll just see how it goes.

Philly does have the added benefit of being really close to NYC, Boston, Washington DC, and Baltimore.

Yeah, the East coast probably has a leg up on the Midwest from a "things to do" standpoint. But Philly also happens to be the dirty butthole of the group.

I was supremely impressed with the Twin Cities when I ventured out there. I wouldn't mind living there at all, Wolves or no Wolves.
