Eight of the Nine? 3 Months ago Howls: 17
From Sid Hartman via Wolves Update 8/18...

Starting today and continuing for two weeks, the Timberwolves will have nine of their top players -- including Al Jefferson, Sebastian Telfair, Kevin Love, Randy Foye, Ryan Gomes, Corey Brewer, Chris Richard and Mike Miller -- working out every day at Target Center.

I'm a semantics guy. Why say "nine of their top players" and then list eight?

Because Richard is listed and it would be fairly debatable if he's in the first 9 off the bench, my guess is that it might be Booth or Cardinal or Carney, and Sid just doesn't know 'em that well yet.

I don't know if I'm hoping more that it's Booth to challenge Jefferson and Love, or if it's Carney who would likely benefit the most individually.

I also like the idea that Miller and Hoiberg might lead shooting drills for Telfair and Brewer (and others too, of course.)

I don't think Sid has provided reliable and worthwhile information in decades. I'm just surprised he didn't talk about how he was friends with each of them, or how they each have Minnesota ties.

Haha great post.

I concur, Sid is absolutely worthless at this point...

Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

By one standard, he's as good as Britt @ The Rake.

Both were bulletted today in TrueHoop.

Bassy, by Mike Trudell via Timberwolves site as told by my fave blog:

-An unconfirmed list of who has been downstairs, according to Bassy: Gomes, Jefferson, McCants, Foye, Carney, Corey Brewer, Chris Richard, Mike Miller.

So no Love, but Carney is unconfirmably confirmed. I'm a level 1 prognosticator!

I'm amused Sid said "Nine of their top players" but didn't list McCants. But it does appear he was in the list, and therefore leads credibility that the top players are working out together.

I'm also curious who's filling out the empty spot for the 5-on-5 drills. And who's playing whom.
