What would you say if we were able to obtain Gerald Wallace from the Bobcats?

For let's say, an expiring deal (Jason Collins) a "promising" youngster (McCants/Brewer) and a low 1st rounder (Boston's, maybe Utah's).

Pros:
- Gerald Wallace is a jack of all trades, capable of dropping 15ppg, 6rpg, 4apg, 2spg, 1+bpg which are awesome numbers
- G-Force is a great defender
- We do have a glaring hole at SF and I'd rather trade for the likes of him than pursue someone we can't get (Granger) or whom we'd have to overpay (Marvin Williams)

Cons:
- his deal is extra long (altough it's pretty reasonable on a year-to-tear basis)
- there are a lot of injury concerns about him

So, the injury concerns are the only thing why the Bobcats would consider this. But it's not that awful for them... they get a backup C with an expiring deal and they sure could use one being thin out front. They just resigned Emeka Okafor to a phat deal, pair that with J-Rich, Nazr Mohammed and an extension looming for Felton... they'd like to shed salary. Getting a young guy who played in college with Felton and May might be nice for them, but they could also take a risk on Brewer and try to develop him. A 1st rounder is a sweetener, doesn't hurt us much and it would give them much needed leverage to package it with their own pick to move up in the draft.

We all know how great it would be to have a healthy Gerald Wallace on this team, locked up long term next to Big Al. Would you take a risk?

Glaring hole at SF? Skinny Miller and Gomes will primarily play SF. Those are two of the teams most savvy/veteran players.

Skinny Miller is more of a SG, while Gomes despite being a decent player is still confused between the 3 and the 4... Can't blame him, his body forces him to be more of a power 3.

I want no part of Gerald's contract. He's just not worth that much.
