Heat vs Nets on ESPN2 1 Month, 1 Week ago Howls: 11
How the hell can ESPN2 be broadcasting an afternoon preseason Nets/Heat game but no one can seem to air a Timberwolves game? Or even the Celtics last night were not nationally televised. I know its preseason and I know Dwade is popular, but come on. The Nets are as unexciting on a national level than Minny. And Yi isnt even suited up, so we can't use the China argument.

Bah. Boooo. Get me some AlJeff on the TV!

Because the NBA is obsessed with advertising themselves globally and the Nets/Heat game was being played in Paris as part of the Euro Tour.

I caught the 4th quarter and OT. The game almost put me to sleep though, as there was poor officiating (The game ended as a 92-91 victory for the Heat for a minute or 2 because the refs missed a call on a long 2-pointer by Daequan Cook near the end) and just overall poor play. Beasley didn't really impress me when I saw him out there, as he missed 3 of 4 free throws in OT and airballed a 3-4 foot baseline hook shot to end the game.

If anything, the game only made me want to draft Devin Harris a bit more in Fantasy basketball, showed me how under-appreciated big men like Joel Anthony are, and how much I still cringe everytime I see Marcus Bank blow by defenders for an easy layup or hit an open jump shot. That man could've been our starting/backup PG.... *sigh*

Brook Lopez was a DNP in this game.

Marcus Banks and Mark Blount started for the heat.

(Of course Mark Madsen started in our 2 games)

I still have a celtics tshirt with banks' silhouette on it with the words "banks' backcourt" from a while ago. I always thought he was going to be better than he has been, for the same reasons stated by yoleo.

The money Marcus Banks wanted was ridiculous. Even now his contract is considered horrible. The guy had potential, but I'm glad we let him walk vs. strapping us with yet another Marko/Hassell-esque contract to dump. I'll take the cap space any day.

The Suns signed him to be the next Steve Nash and then relegated him to the bench and then shipped him off to Miami. He is another Gerald Green,
high on talent, low on brains.

Speaking of which, anyone catch this?

On 10/9/08 game... "CHICAGO -- Gerald Green scored 18 points to lead six Dallas players in double figures, helping the Mavericks beat the Chicago Bulls 110-102 in a preseason game on Thursday night."

... and it only looks like only one was a dunk.

Top is down, left is right, day is night...

My favorite Gerald Green highlight isn't even on You Tube. In fact if you didn't see it live, you probabley will never see it. I don't even remember who we were playing but Gerald was guarding someone and was standing between him and the basket blocking the lane with his arms up in the air just like he was suppose to. Suddenly, without any reason what so ever he bolted down to the other end like there was a turnover or something. The man he was guarding just blinked in disbelief and then proceeded to take it to the basket and score. The announcers were hialrious scratching their heads trying to figure out what had just gone through Geralds mind.

That's just awesome.

Foye: Can you add that to your optimism? ("I'm saying 40 (wins) is reasonable. I feel as though we can play with anybody. We can win a lot of games. Last year we could have won a lot of games, but we lost it at the buzzer. It just takes that extra push, that extra stop, that extra rebound. We'll be able to get some wins."

Wow... hahahahaha I don't remember this for some reason. Maybe Bonk does?

Ahhhhh Gerald Green and the bizarro universe that he lives in. I wonder what it's like there...
