It's my sister's birthday tomorrow, so why not predict a win? Also, we're rolling and I doubt Denver plays their starters as much as we play ours...

PREDICTION:

Wolves 97 - Nuggets 95

The Wolves are on a roll! Unfortunately, I don't think we can put to much stock into these performances so far.

Oh believe me... I know.

I've already had at least a dozen super awkward conversations with co-workers who are complete fair weather NBA fans. They come up and want to ask me about how awesome the Wolves are doing so far and what the season will be like... UGH. Convo's like that are the WORST with co-workers that don't know a dang thing about the NBA. I dread them. Does anyone else besides Bonk know what I'm talking about?

When stupid people at work come up to me trying to talk about the Wolves I feel like shissing in a sock and beating them with it until my arm falls off. It's awkward and stupid. Get a clue before you waste my time people.

It's the worst. Because you don't want to sound like a know it all, but you don't want to have a super dumbed down conversation ever. And those people just have such broad generalizations like "Foye is so awesome" or "I heard KG is a big jerk" or "sounds like Love is going to be a star" or "Telfair's like the worst guard in the league" and it just makes me cringe, and I never know how I should respond. They read a couple paragraphs in the STrib and think they know the team. HATE IT.

I agree with EVERYTHING you guys just said. I can't stand it when people find out that I watch the T'Wolves and they immediately say, "They suck." I could get in an argument with them, which would be pointless since:

A. 99% of the time they NEVER watch games
B. They are complete fair weather fans
C. They are the kind of people that say, "College ball is SO much better."

All of this makes me never, ever want to talk to these fools about the NBA.

Wolves shoot 65 percent and hit 50% on threes, thus winning 123-105

I was watching the NBA Finals a few months ago at a friend's apartment, but was only there because there was no other TV I could use at the time. As we see Ray Allen miss a 3, he says, "Wow... that guy is garbage..."

Head through a window... seriously. I don't know what's worse though, completely unaware people who make statements like above, or fair-weather fans who feel they know what they're talking about with statements like, "The Spurs are gonna go all the way this year!"

I'm actually one of those people. You need to be more patient and understanding with us. We want to be knowlegable, we just aren't.

Wolves - 120
Nuggets - 81

Yeah, I really hate talking sports at work. Most people don't know what they're talking about and Bonk's right that it's really hard to not come off like you're a know it all. It's also tough when you like teams outside the area because you don't want to come off like a homer or tick people off.

For example, I have to be very tactful about my Patriots with all the Jets fans in Jersey. I don't want to come off like a prick that everybody hates, yet at the same time Mangini and the Jets are the taint of the NFL. It's a very tough line to walk. I'm generally very magnanimous when having conversations about the NFL, but I feel like I'm being fake.

Holy cow! I'm watching the game stats on the NBA web site and it says Corey Brewer was high scorer w/ 18 points in 16 minutes with 4 of 5 from the three. What kind of a parallel universe have we slipped into?

Wow the Wolves got wiped. The bad news about this that we played all our starters pretty big minutes, while the Nuggs starters played significantly less...
