Game Thread: Wolves at Denver Nuggets (11/16/08) 3 years, 2 months ago #24190

I'm not sure whether or not I'll have time to make this post later this weekend, so I'll do it now. I don't think I'll be able to watch the game either.

Anyways, I honestly don't see how we have a chance against a still *decent* team, considering it is a back to back and we have to leave for a decently long trip late Saturday night. It could spell disaster. Will Wittman have the troops ready to play under such circumstances? Not if what he has done so far this year is any indication.

PREDICTION:

Wolves 88 - Nuggets 115
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

The Nuggets knocked the Celtics off by nine tonight. Anything can happen on any night, but we better come to play if we want to take a win in Denver.

I want to stay positive and hope that we can beat the Thuggets.
Wolves: 90

This will be nasty; let's not even pretend people.

Wolves 92 - Nuggets 110

Re:Game Thread: Wolves at Denver Nuggets (11/16/08 3 years, 2 months ago #24212

This will not be close. We are horrrrrrrible.

I think I've figured it out. We only lead games because other teams underestimate us and/or just don't care. Then, when it gets closer to the end they say, "ok time to go win" and they just nonchalantly beat us.

We are so bad it looks like most teams don't even try very hard against us most of the game, and they still end up winning.

Sure, why not. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it! Just post it in here whenever you get a chance.

I broke my promise to not waste my time watching these games until Wittman is fired, but I couldn't help it. Thus far, I don't think the Thuggets are even trying. Randy Foye is playing well. He looks pretty good.

It's kind of remarkable, really, the way the Wolves have started this season. I remember watching the team in KG's final year and thinking that they had found every way possible to lose games (poor starts, poor finishes, getting outrebounded, lots of turnovers, etc.). Every game it seemed like it was something else.

This season, there is no such mystery from game to game. The script has been almost exactly the same night in and night out (pissing the game down their legs in the 4th quarter).

At least they're consistent...

"Is that you Wally" is my title for that performance by Mike Miller. He can't get open jumpers, when he get a tiny bit if daylight he still hesitates just long enough for a defender to get in his face, and my GOD that behind the back dribble that basically sealed that loss. That was a Wally special if I've ever seen one.

Collins is dog !#@4.

Much like in more professional broadcasts they show a moving clock saying a team hasn't scored in so long. They need that clock saying "Wittman hasn't but the correct 5 guys on the court together in 123:23 of game time".

Al Jeff continues to disappear at the end of the game. Miller continues to shoot less and less per game, falling down to 4 FGA's now. Love continues to sit way more than he should. Rhino continues to be in our lineup despite the fact that opposing bigs have no trouble reaching over him for boards. The common denominator? Wittman.

*sigh*... being a Wolves fan is starting to take it's toll on me, I'm sure you guys all feel the pain as well.
I have absolutely NO ties to Minnesota. No family/friends there, no one I know that's a fan of anything Minnesota, and never set foot anywhere close to there.

I'm just a normal guy who randomly picked the wrong team to cheer for as a kid.

Wow. We really, really suck. Like seriously, we are B-A-D.

In response to Pants, Bonk and I told ya'll that Collins blows. Why is he playing instead of Love?

In response to YoLeo, all this losing is brutal. I could barely muster up the energy to come make a comment about the game.

Another *tragic* (hahaha whatever) 4th quarter defeat, where we get hopelessly outscored in the 4th quarter. Like I said in a different thread, teams just don't care that they are playing us and at any time are able to say "ok, enough of this, let's go win now." The Nuggets shot 34% and were still able to easily win it down the stretch run.

Is Mike Miller allergic to shooting?

11 man rotation, nice. Not.

McCants blows.

Foye looked decent. Big Al was good for the most part. Ok, I'm done, this is pointless to even begin analyzing.

Wittman should be fire. I can't believe they ever hired him in the first place... and gave him a 3 year extension. What. The. #@$@!

I feel you YoLeo. It's been a tough year so far and 4th quarters are getting hard to watch.
Man...the Love & Miller trade is looking pretty good so far.. those two together don't even match up to what Mayo is doing right now.

You know, it is weird how players who gets drafted to other teams seems to develope but for some reason players that we draft don't get better, for instance, Randy Foye and McCants. Is it the players or coaches?? I'm leaning more on the coaches. They don't seem to develope these players right and they in game they don't put them in right situations to succeed. I feel like Foye and McCants should be utilize better by now, but they look the same as their rookie years.

I definitely think there is some truth to this. Our Front Office/coaches are mostly buffoons, as we all know.

Oh yeah, and they aren't developing because they aren't big men. McHale can't work with guards.
