Season Record: 1-8

We stink, we will lose. Philly is overrated this year, but like most teams in the league they are still better than us.

PREDICTION:

Wolves 90 - Sixers 99

8 game streak... and like 6 of them were lost after having a lead midway thropugh the 4th.

If we lose this one (and we probably will) I brace myself for a Wittman firing. It's damn close, the guys chuckles when asked by reporters "why do they lose"... I think he knows... I THINK HE KNOWS.

Did anyone catch that subtle blurb in Shooters column about Flip coming back? Though Shooter is usually pretty off the wall, he has been right at times when he speaks in a directive tone like that.

That, and Hoiberg was really beating around the bush about my Wittman questions on the phone the other day. You gotta think something is imminent. If Flip come back though, the media and fans will have a fieled day with their inability to escape the country club. The PR will be TERRIBLE if we bring him back.

With that said, Wolves lose by 3 98-95 and blow another lead.

The horror of Wittman is to the point where anything but him would be decent PR.

The 76ers are down by 24 before they wake up (and by wake up I mean Wittman subs out all the decent players).
93 - 76ers
95 - Wolves

I agree, but imagine the field day these media guys will have with McHale if he brings back Flip. I would leave work early to listen to Barrieros rant if that ever happened. Thats not to say I wouldnt completely support the move, I just think it would make McTaylor look like bigger fools than they EVER have.

A note: if the Wolves lose they will have a longer losing streak than they did all of last season. If that doesnt spell Fire Wittman I dont know what does.

I don't see Flip EVER returning with McHale and the majority of current Front Office at the helm.

There is like a 0.0000000001% chance.

Check this out.

blogs.hoopshype.com/blogs/videos/2008/11...ve-in-randy-wittman/

I don't know about you, but Foye doesn't sound too convincing at all. Moreover, he looks as if he already knows Witt is getting the long ride home.

And Wittman? God, that guy looks as if he knew his days are numbered. He doesn't even have a straight answer and tries some crappy jokes.

I don't care who comes back or who we get as long as Wittman is gone. How do you not get the ball down to BIG AL in the 4th quarter??

I say we are up by 30 this time with 6 minutes left in the 4th and lose by 1 point. 104 to 103.

But seriously the Sixers have long athletics guys that can do everything like what Portland and Goldenstate has, that gives us match up problems, so we're going to lose.

What I notice now with the NBA is that a lot of up and coming teams have those long and athletic type of guys and we have none because we passed up on most of them and selected guys that are short for their positions. Except Brewer but we don't even know what to do with him.

I have a bad feeling about this one.... Crap.

We'll lose by at least 5.

This sucks. Wittman has done nothing to try and change it. How does our Front Office seriously keep turning a blind eye to his "coaching" techniques or lack-there-of? I mean, if you pay any attention at all, you can see that he knows his system is flawed, but doesn't care (so he should be fired) OR he cares but doesn't know how to change it (so he should be fired).
Either way, Wittman + "coaching" = losing
And losing = bad.

You know it's bad when its only the 5th home game of the season, and the first 5 people you ask to go to the game with you turn you down. Seriously, College Wolf has to hang with Playground Pup, and usually its an abundance of options to find his replacement. Right now I'm on like plan G. Wow, no one likes the Wolves. But they do suck and just blow it every game. Can't really blame the public for their perception.

Everyone keeps saying the problem is in the players heads, that they break down in the 4th, yadda, yadda.

No. The problem is with Wittman's head breaking down near the end of the game. As if he was sabotaging the organisation, he sits down Mike Miller, Kevin Love, Corey Brewer and often Big Al (the infamous end of 3rd/beggining of 4th stretch) to play people like the non-confident Foye, over-confident McCants and defensively challenged Craig Smith.

How can those guys improve if they're constantly put in a losing position. How can we win, when the guys that could win us the game are on the bench?

Very well said. I agree with you, especially the bolded part about Big Al's breaks. Is it really necessary to rest Big Al 8 (or more) game minutes during these crucial points in the game!?!? He treats him like he's 35 years old! C'mon, Al is 23... I think he can handle the minutes! It's not like he uses a ton of his energy on defense anyways

On the perverse side, I predict the Wolves win cuz I ain't going. This time the 76ers blow their double digit lead and Wolves come from behind.

(I'd like to go, but have other commitments. I found a taker for my tix, but only after asking more than expected number of folks. )

OK, here's what's gonna happen.

Witt gets fired within the next two weeks.

Flip comes back as coach and GM -- position he held at one time.

Flip coaches for the rest of this season, the team does well for the remainder of the season -- at least compared to Witt's record.

At the end of the season, McHale steps down in a cloud of glory.

Flip takes McHales job, and hires a new coach.

The Iowan becomes GM.

Casey is the new coach.

Country club remains intact.

The blog continues, with plenty to complain about.
