Did anyone catch that subtle blurb in Shooters column about Flip coming back? Though Shooter is usually pretty off the wall, he has been right at times when he speaks in a directive tone like that.

That, and Hoiberg was really beating around the bush about my Wittman questions on the phone the other day. You gotta think something is imminent. If Flip come back though, the media and fans will have a fieled day with their inability to escape the country club. The PR will be TERRIBLE if we bring him back.

With that said, Wolves lose by 3 98-95 and blow another lead.

OK, here's what's gonna happen.

Witt gets fired within the next two weeks.

Flip comes back as coach and GM -- position he held at one time.

Flip coaches for the rest of this season, the team does well for the remainder of the season -- at least compared to Witt's record.

At the end of the season, McHale steps down in a cloud of glory.

Flip takes McHales job, and hires a new coach.

The Iowan becomes GM.

Casey is the new coach.

Country club remains intact.

The blog continues, with plenty to complain about.

Wow so many of you are oblivious to the depth of coaching necessary to run an NBA team. Casey had the respect of nobody on the Wolves team, from players to coaches. He's probably a GREAT assistant and does things well when he's not in charge. I've never seen a coach on any level be ridiculed that openly by his players, refs, and fellow coaches during a game. Your suggestion doesn't work.

Hey! That was not a suggestion! That was a prediction! Big difference...

And it was a prediction based on the lameness of management, not based on what I would prefer to see happen.

Let's see if, by some strange trick of fate, it actually happens. And if it does, I shall be very unhappy. I won't say what I want to happen, because so many more knowledgeable posters on here can draw more attractive scenarios.

I don't make this prediction because I'm a hoops expert. I make this prediction because I have spend a career working in organizations, which were dysfunctional most of the time. So my gut tells me what directions folks are likely to go in to protect their egos and turf.

Peace.

Good win tonight. Getting ready for the Celtics game Friday! Anyone else going?

Bonk and I will be there, of course.

The only thing stopping me from going to this game would be if I suddenly went into cardiac arrest and slipped into a coma. If that happens, you guys can figure out a way to use my ticket for one of you.

Really though. Glad we won one. It is amazing.... when we won it felt like a ton of bricks were lifted off me. Apparently I was carrying around some bad energy and didn't even know it. This isn't going to be a season changer but I can definitely say that during the losing streak I think the wolves were holding onto some extra baggage and kind of created a self fulfilling prophecy.... You could just see it in the way everyone (besides al) tightened up at the end of games. So the more we win the more confidence I think we will have. The season is still probably not going to be a good one but I would like to see--and I think we will--us getting 4 or 5 wins over a 10 game stretch.

Here's the boxscore:

http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=281119016

Wow, leave it to the TWolves to do their darndest to try blowing YET another 4th quarter lead. BUT... that didn't happen and we won. I thought we were dead for sure when the opponent went on their patented late 4th quarter run. They scored 31 points in the 4th quarter against us. Ouch.

Big Al and Skinny Miller were clutch at the end though. That's exactly what we need from them. As YoLeo said in the Elimination Game thread, if anyone besides those two was taking the last shot, I'm almost 100% sure we would have lost the game.

Andre Miller can still bring it, even at the age of 32. I'd say he's one of the Top 10 "pure PG's" in the game. Someone like him is exactly what our own Wolves team could use out there. He could run our offenses, hit a J, take it to the hole when needed, and mentor the others/provide leadership. He's a free agent after this season. I wouldn't mind going after him if the price was right.

Elton Brand is good, don't get me wrong, but he is not worth what he's getting paid.

Thad Young is a gazelle. Man, he looked good for the most part. Think how raw he was his rookie year. He is going to be a great player.

Overall, the Sixers really aren't that good of a team. Man, the media sure (falsely) fawned over them pretty hardcore this pre-season! They will not be even Eastern Conference contenders at all.

Craig Smith had one of the best games I've ever seen him play. Good for him, I've been down on him too much lately. That was a nice game. Weird he had 10 free throws and ZERO rebounds though.

Gomes and Miller played really well. Probably one of their best games each so far this season.

Telfair needs more minutes.

Foye played good, but not great.

Big Al is a STUD. He should be an All-star. It will be a shame if he gets snubbed because our team and record is so bad this season.

What it all boils down to is that we won because McCants got injured and only played 7 minutes...

Oh yeah, I forgot... if you ever get a chance to watch "Wolves Live" after the games on FSN, just stick around long enough to watch Wittman's "Presser" (aka Press Conference/Interview.)

Oh my god they are hilarious to the Nth degree on the unintentional comedy scale. Wow. He's just so awkward and mumbly and shifty. I laugh out loud every time I watch one. He's much funnier after a loss because he's all agitated and hates answering the questions, but even tonight's was still funny!

I can definitely see how/why players wouldn't respect him or fall for his false bravado/tough guy routine.

Good game...what's been frustrating with these loses is that we have the talent and ability to win these games...but they haven't been showing it.

But I'm glad we won and now I hope the players know how to close and win games now and carry it for the rest of the year.

I'll be at the game friday night...can't wait...all the fans should chant "M.V.P. M.V.P. M.V.P. M.V.P. " just for old times sake you know..hahaha.

Big Al continues to be a stud in the clutch. Thank God since no one else on our team is AT ALL (except K. Love, but TWittman apparently won't play him in the clutch anymore). But BIG AL = Stud.

Rhino had a really good game, but I was still very boned that Witt had him in during the clutch. Really?? We want Craig Smith guarding the other teams best player in the clutch?? Really? A 6'6" guy? Wow. Luckily we won despite Wittman.

Foye didn't play bad, but A: It still seemed like he was just freezing up in the clutch, and B: It seemed like we were so much more fluid & got so many more easy buckets when Bassy was in.

Miller had a solid game. Same with Gomes. Brewer/Love/McCants were kind of the odd men out. Collins is a terrible basketball player. Bavetta is a sideshow. Thad Young is a complete beast. Dre Miller is quietly very very good. Foye let Lou Williams get easy transition buckets and Dre Miller drive right by him way too many times.

But hey, We Won! The crowd was bad, they were out of dollar dogs again in the 1st quarter (seriously 3 Wednesday games, and all 3 times they've been out of dollar dogs when I've gone, twice before it started and last night in the mid. of the 1st...OUT? There was no one there!), but we finally broke the streak, and for that I am happy.
