Speaking of Mr. Love... I know he just went through a bad stretch of ball, but I am firmly convinced that by the end of the year, Love will be the best two-way player on this squad and he may even be the best player.
Just joking... sorta.
Overall, I love the digs against the Wolves because they are all true and warranted. But C'mon man, Love is not that great.

Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"
Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

The best two way player on this team isn't exactly like declaring him the next KG. At the end of the year I don't figure Miller will be here so you are left with Foye and Jefferson as the next go to guys.
They are junk defenders. Al has proven that when he tries to buckle down on defense he can up his game a little while killing his offensive game. Foye... whew just not a defender and hasn't show any sign he can be.
As for best player... Jefferson may have holes but I don't see how Love passes him this year. Witt isn't smart enough to give him a chance.

I view Gomes as his main competition for the team's best 2 way player with Foye at #3. Gomes is developing a nice game and I think he'd be a fantastic player in Flip's system. Even when Al buckles down on d, he gets blocks but very little else (while killing his offensive game). I'm still sticking with my take that Love will be very close to being this team's best player by the end of the year. He may hit a rookie wall or two but I think he's going to be a guy who gets you about 15/10 before it's all said and done with with excellent rebounding rates, to rates, a decent eFG, and ft/fg numbers. In other words, he will light it up across the four factor board.

As usual, I'm gonna come riding in on my [white] horse to defend Foye.
So before the season began, I only defended Foye off what I saw through box scores or game highlights. Thanks to my brother's NBA League Pass account, I've watched almost every minute of every game online so far. I'll admit, Foye is no Bruce Bowen or Ron Artest, but I can't understand why everyone is saying he's a horrible defender. Foye isn't incredibly quick and like I said, he's not an AWESOME defender, but he's a decent on-the-ball defender. He's had lots of swipes or deflections when he's guarding someone 1-on-1. Once the screens come or he's defending someone off the ball, I see how he can be labeled as a "bad defender." He's a capable ball hawk and usually gets a hand up to [try to] deter the shot. If anything, I place a lot of blame on the team's defense as a whole. No one seems to switch when they need to or doesn't help when they need to. There are some people who look completely lost on the defensive end (Rhino, at times Big Al or Love) and when Foye gets screened, it's hard to play "good defense" when the guy defending the pick is slow to rotate or call it out.
Give him SOME credit...

People see what they want to be true.
Foye's D is TURRRRIBLE.
Watch the games. Mediocre PGs can effortlessly blow by Foye at will and do whatever they want against him. It's so embarrassing, I can't even watch sometimes.
I'm scarred for life from watching last year's game against the Pistons when they had the #2 seed wrapped up and didn't play any of their starters and Stuckey dropped like 29 on Foye without even trying. And WE LOST..to the Pistons backups. Awesome.

Granted, it's compared to his own backups, but Foye's on/off this year has been an improvement defensively over whatever else the Wolves have to offer:

Of course the Wolves just lost to an Orlando team without its starting backcourt and they're starting Ollie/Foye so you'll likely need an entire salt shaker to have this take, but...well, I don't really have a point. He's the best defensive guard they have at this point.

That's like calling him the tallest midget in the circus.
I'm not a huge fan of all the new fangled statistics, as I believe your eyes can often tell you more just by watching someone. Anyone that knows basketball and watches Foye play defense can easily tell that he's just awful. As Roundhouse said, almost any guard in the league can blow past Foye at will. On his very best days, he's simply "average" at best. That is not saying much.

I think that's what I was saying.
I'm pretty sure that at this point in the season we can safely bet the top pick is a perimeter player. They need to fill both the 1 and 2.
