TOPIC: Game Thread: Wolves at Indiana Pacers (2/3/09)

Game Thread: Wolves at Indiana Pacers (2/3/09) 3 years ago #28635

Season Record: 16-30

We have been on a little skid, and this could be a tough game against the vastly improved Pacers. They've been playing well lately. I think we'd probably win at Target Center, but this will be tough on the road. Oh, and Danny Granger is a BEAST. Good thing we didn't draft him.

PREDICTION:

Wolves 99 - Pacers 105
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

I like our chances but the Pacers are not that bad... a toos-up with them having the slight edge because of playing at home.

I think many of us are in a little bit of a grey area on which way to go for the next month. Coming off a hot streak, do we assume they are cold, Love will go back to his rich man's Brian Cardinal days, and FIRST quarter Foye will make his comeback?

Or do we hand them a Get Out of Jail free card, assuming that we had a ridiculous 2 game stretch and are ready to issue some spankings?

For now, my glass is half full. Granger isnt enough.

Wolves - 114
Pacers - 103

We haven't been playing bad, just tough matchups. We can take them, we like playing up tempo anyway. Foye has himself a ball game.

Wolves: 120
Pacers: 109
I have absolutely NO ties to Minnesota. No family/friends there, no one I know that's a fan of anything Minnesota, and never set foot anywhere close to there.

I'm just a normal guy who randomly picked the wrong team to cheer for as a kid.

A: You were born in Taiwan YoLeo... wow.
B: Pacers should be the favorite as they are playing very well and are at home.

Wolves 109
Pacers 98

Matchups seem to favor the Wolves. TJ Ford is fresh off a good game... I haven't seen him play in ages. He seeeeems like a smaller guard that Foye/Telfair could handle on defense (the backcourt D is lightyears better than it was for the Tony Parker game).

Jefferson and Love should both be effective inside. I think Love might be good for 16/10 tonight given that he doesn't have an athletic big to contend with. He can jump Rasho, Jeff Foster, Roy Hibbert and Troy Murphy out of the gym... I don't think there is another team in the NBA with a less athletic front line.

Much like in the Bucks game I think Granger/Dunleavy will get theirs, but I'm hoping that won't be enough.

Thing that will piss me off the most in this game: The punk Dunleavy hitting 4 or 5 threes.
Thank you for the baton Mr. Kidd - Pretty Ricky

Yeah, we all know the Pacers are comin up, but I still think we're a better team, and like pants said K Love should have a great game bein a little more athletic than their bigs...

Vegas has the Pacers by 4. I'm with you guys that were talking about the matchups, i like it. This could be a shootout, both teams strongly prefer offense to defense, and Indy loves to run n gun. I'm excited to see Danny, as I feel like I never ever see the Pacers play, and honestly, I don't know that much about his game.

Yea its hard to envision Granger being such a deadly scorer. Always thought hed be a 16-17ppg ahtletic forward as a 2nd/3rd option. Oops.

I had heard that years ago Granger had his pick of the Kardashians and decided on Kim but dumped her when she got "too clingy". He even beats out McCants in that area as well.

My prediction, Kevin Love gets a 30 pts/15 boards in 22 minutes of PT, solves the economic crisis at halftime, and Wolves win 135-99.

(actually, getting a little overexcited. Wolves win 106 - 101, Love gets a 14&10 and decides to solve the economy at a later date)
