Game Thread: Wolves at Houston Rockets (2/7/09) 3 years ago #28797

Season Record: 17-30

We still haven't really proven that we can beat a solid, above average team yet. It doesn't help that this is on the road. It could be a blowout (we are due for a huge let down), but I think we'll keep it somewhat close.

PREDICTION:

Wolves 89 - Rockets 97
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

Most likely you will be correct.

I've been trying to be more optimistic in 2009. Helps my blood pressure.

Houston is actually at full strength but they just aren't playing well.

Rockets - 111
Wolves - 104

Come on Houston... trade us Tracy while you are in town. It'll save on travel costs if you just leave him behind. Did you see Rashad and Miller almost signal handedly bring the Wolves back against the Hawks? They are all yours. Really. I'm serious. Take them. TAKE THEM.

This team is out of gas right now. They need all star weekend badly.
Thank you for the baton Mr. Kidd - Pretty Ricky

Wow. We got crushed. What a suck game. We started off down 8-0, but then went on a 20-2 run. After that, the rest of the game was not good.

The ONLY bright spot on our team was Big Al tonight. 26 points, 22 boards, 4 assists, 4 steals. Literally, he was the only good thing worth commenting. If there's something else positive, I don't know what it would be.

McCants started the second quarter? UGH. 15 minutes, 1 of 5 from the field for 4 points and 3 fouls. That's about what we typically expect out of him.

Foye and Gomes have really sucked lately.

Love had a bad game.

I'd say just "shake it off", but we need to beat good teams for people to finally/ever take us seriously. Are we doomed to perpetual mediocrity? That seems to be the problem with this team. We still haven't beaten a team in 2009 that is above .500 and healthy.

Foye can be great. He has to be more consistant to be our PG of the future. This is a critical time for him. He needs to step up. He has not lately. I think Bassy just might be remembered as someone who rose from the dumps to mediocrity. I see him as coming off the bench next year. Gomes is Gomes. We already know who he is and what he can do. I really love Big Al, flaws and all. I wasn't concerned about Kevin Loves lack of numbers. What he did do was good. I like him starting. Have we given up on Carney?

I know that I haven't given up on him, then again I did not allow my expectations to skyrocket during his stretch of decent games.

I think some people got a bit too excited about his play during our winning streak against those bad teams... hence the bigger than normal letdown.
