Game Thread: Wolves at NO Hornets (2/8/09) 3 years ago #28924

Season Record: 17-32

I honestly don't know. It could probably go either way. Tyson Chandler is out, but West has been playing great lately. I really don't know if CP3 is playing or not. Anyone know? I'll say we lose because it's on the road and the back end of a back-to-back.

PREDICTION:

Wolves 95 - Hornets 105
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

4th Quarter Foye hits 2 big free throws to put the Wolves up by 1! Need a Huge defensive stop here in this last 16 seconds.

Spoke too soon. No shame in losing to a great team led by Sean Marks. What's a "Sean Marks" you ask?

an 8 year undrafted journeyman from New Zealand throwing down 2 pts/2 boards a game silly, that's who. I was hoping before the game we'd at least be able to contain him, but my bad for asking the impossible

SCREW

THIS

GAME

Not only we lose in some horrendous circumstances, a "who the hell is he?" player has the game of his life.... but Big Al goes down with an ugly looking knee injury.

Just shoot me.

I have absolutely NO ties to Minnesota. No family/friends there, no one I know that's a fan of anything Minnesota, and never set foot anywhere close to there.

I'm just a normal guy who randomly picked the wrong team to cheer for as a kid.

Man. How did we lose that? No CP3, Chandler, or David West? On top of that, Peja was just downright AWFUL. What a travesty that we lost. No wonder people still don't take us seriously and our guys don't get All-star consideration.

Gomes was easily the MVP of our guys tonight. That was great to see again. It's been long enough. 21 points and 5 of 6 from deep? That was awesome. The only reason we were leading for most of the game.

Foye was just terrible again. Ever since his hot streak he has been pretty bad. 4 of 15 from the field again tonight... ugh. Only 2 assists and 2 turnovers. Not good.

Love was very good. If he was like 5 inches taller he would be a complete stud. Then again, we wouldn't have him because he probably would have been the first or second overall pick in the draft. Nice double-double though and 5 of 7 from the field.

Miller finally has a good game (last night vs Rockets) and then comes back with yet another stinkbomb. Geeez, 6 shots and only 7 points in 34 minutes? Good lord Miller. I think we're better off without his nearly $10 mil per year salary. We should be able to get some solid assets for him at the trade deadline. It will be interesting to see what happens with him.

Carney and Cardinal sucked.

McCants played again?!?! What's going on??? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Thank goodness it was only 3 minutes.

I can't hardly even comment about the Hornets. I mean, Peja is their best player left on the court for the second half and we still lose? Rasual Butler pwned Foye all night. Sean Marks with 18 points and a career night? Seriously, wtf!?!?

Big Al. Had a great game going. No one wants to see him tear knee ligaments though, or something like that. Man, what a complete bummer. We are going to lose every game he misses. Very sad.

I take back every good thing I said about Randy Foye during the last month. In a world where this team is winning more than it is losing... Randy will not be in the starting lineup.

We're really going to see what Love is made of in the next few weeks. This should be a test of both his skill and his fitness.

If there is a GM who believes Randy Foye is a stud... TRADE HIM.
Thank you for the baton Mr. Kidd - Pretty Ricky

I would have no problem with trading him... along with everyone else on our team. Seriously, no one is untouchable. I guess maybe Al, but I would consider deals for him too.

Foye has been regressing quite a bit. Looks like his stretch was just taking advantage of the crappy teams we were playing at the time.
