Game Thread: Wolves vs Portland Blazers (2/27/09) 2 years, 11 months ago #29776

Season Record: 18-39

Look at our record, there is a more than good chance that we are only going to have 1 win this entire month. The rest of the games this month for the Wolves:

vs Portland
vs Houston
vs GS
at LAL
at Portland

So yeah. Portland is good. I don't see how we win.

PREDICTION:

Wolves 98 - Blazers 114
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

sounds about right, I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Wolves will jump out to an early lead, then go to smallball in the 4th quarter while Aldridge gets key pts and rebounds and we end up losing the game.

Rumor is that the Granger is going to suit up as a Blazer in a "one time only" agreement to go against the Wolves, so we can save time watching Roy and Granger kill the Wolves together, then we'll lament what could have been

I think this is the perfect lineup (Aldridge and Oden/Przybilla) to own Love. They are bigger, faster and jump higher. And it's not Kevin fault. If we had a guy like DeAndre Jordan (yes, he was available when we picked Chalmers and traded the pick) this could've gotten competetive.

Oh god.

I'm done with mourning and have moved on to the acceptance stage of the Love/Mayo trade (although I'd still rather have Mayo anyday of the week) but our 2nd round picks were botched so badly. There were so many guys out there we could have used with upside that would be starting for us right now.

How did we not end up with DeAndre Jordan? That alone shows how stupid our FO is. The wolves have been hurting for an big, athletic center for 20 years, and one although not terribly skilled, but with huge potential falls to us in the 2nd round. WTF it's a zero risk, high reward scenario! It was like a little gift for all the misfortunes we've had.

Chuck Norris won by 5.

Wolves: 100

Vegas has The Blaze by 4.5...I would have to throw $ on The Blaze.

I should put this in the nicknames thread, but I always liked Joel "The Vanilla Gorilla" Pryzibilla's nickname.

I really hope Foye doesn't take > 20 shots just to try and prove he can put up Roye like numbers. I could see it happening though.

Mr. Smooth & The Gorilla: 111
Mr. PotatoHead & The Rhino: 103

I would definitely bet on the Blazers by only 4.5. That line is absurd. Anyone aware of how many ppg we are giving up without Al? Also, check out the opponents FG%'s. They are through the roof.

I suppose I could probably put this in here for anyone that might have missed it. It's the Q&A I did with the Blazer's Blog "Bust a Bucket"

Well two Wolves player run ins in the last 2 days for yours truly. Wednesday produced a humorous, sweating Mark Madsen on the stairmaster at Lifetime downtown. Said hi to him on his way up to the court. What a guy.

Last night was a return trip to an old college tavern I frequented in my WW glory years, and then who walks into the establishment but Corey Brewer? An odd sight indeed, considering the demographics of the attendees, as well as the location.

Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm and I will run into Brian Cardinal at, say, Menards tonight, post-game.

Hoping for a win, but standings show a large gap between us and the true dogshit teams. We need that top pick. Wolves lose it tonight. One step closer to Harden.

-Brian Cardinal, to me, post game at the bar.

Go figure, [Bobby Brown] hit buckets in garbage time, [Sheldon Williams] only played [8] minutes?!?!, while [Jason Collins] played [15] minutes?!?!, why didn't [Love] play more in the [2nd Quarter]? [All our Bigs] looked undersized down low; [No one] could guard anybody, [Kevin Ollie] looked completely lost out there, [Kevin Love] completely sucked this game, and [Jason Collins] is completely worthless. [Randy Foye] usually played well but had a horrible game, and couldn't hit the broad side of the barn tonight. He jacked up [15] shots while laying [10] bricks. [Kevin Love] gets the "Mike Miller Award" for only taking only [4] shots in [29] minutes. Where was [Natalie] tonight?

Wolves lose big again.

But seriously, it looks like we didn't miss anything tonight. Another 20 point blowout... ugh.

By the way, was this worst collective boxscore for our starting lineup in any one game all season? It's not hyperbole. If you don't believe me, go take a look at the boxscore lines for yourself. Ugh.

Judging only by the boxscore, I'd say this was our worst outing of the season.

Marco is a lucky man.

I don't know how I forgot to mention this before, but Ollie had a 9 minute Voskuhl. Even better, Telfair had a twenty freakin one minute Voskuhl!!!

* I substituted their rebounds for their assists and they still qualified for the Voskuhl, because typical it only works for big men. I felt they were warranted.
