TOPIC: Game Thread: Wolves at NO Hornets (3/18/09)

Game Thread: Wolves at NO Hornets (3/18/09) 2 years, 10 months ago #30430

Season Record: 20-47

Lottery Position: 6th worst record, 1.0 games "behind."

It's a back-to-back and in New Orleans. They are fighting for playoff positioning. I don't see how we win.

PREDICTION:

Wolves 86 - Hornets 99
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

Hornets 103
Wolves 91

Without Sean Marks in the starting line up this Hornets team is tough to beat.
Thank you for the baton Mr. Kidd - Pretty Ricky

I know it doesn't help the draft, but let's win this one! Down one with a minute to go!

Hilton Armstrong had a nice stat line at center, hit 6 of 8 shots, had 8 rebounds, 6 of them offensive. Undrafted out of UConn, 24 years old 6'11" -- Maybe NOLA feels he's a better option at center? Anyone see the game and have comments on his play?

He had more offensive reebs than KLove...

The Hornets should be ashamed of themselves for allowing us to come back and make this a game, considering how both teams started out the game. They won't go anywhere in the playoffs without a killer instinct.

"Go figure, [No one] hit buckets in garbage time, because garbage time for the Wolves was [surprisingly non-existent.] [Rodney Carney] only played [19] minutes?!?!, while [Foye] played [41] minutes?!?!, and why didn't [Mark Madsen] play [at all]? [All our bigs and Foye] sucked at defense, and could not guard [Hilton "Spacehead" Armstrong or CP3]. [Kevin Ollie and Jason Collins] looked completely lost out there, and [Mike Miller] completely sucked this game. [Most of our entire organization roster except for Crunch] is completely worthless. [Foye and Telfair] really had atrocious games shooting, and clanked [15] bricks out of [23] attempts. You know your team is in trouble when [your starting Center] plays [5 minutes] leaves the game healthy and [does not play again.] This game would not have been even remotely close except for the [stellar all-around play] of [Ryan Gomes], and the [solid rebounding and scoring inside] from [Kevin Love]. [Mike Miller] gets the [Sixth consecutive] "Mike Miller Award", for taking only [6] shots in [33] minutes. Where was [Sheldon Williams] tonight?

Wolves lose again."

What... Hilton Armstrong was a lottery pick.

Sorry, my bad. Looked at his profile on ESPN -- undrafted in fantasy league. I gotta read a bit more carefully.

I'd rather see Gomes or Miller take the last shot than Foye. He's already got his chance to miss an countless number of potential game winners this season.

Then again, with about 2 seconds left Miller would probably pass it to Bassy standing 10 feet behind the 3-point line.

Gomes should be the new shot taker.
Chuck Norris once challenged Lance Armstrong in a \"Who has more testicles?\" contest.

Chuck Norris won by 5.

Completely agree. Get him open on the baseline for a midrange and it would be money.

OR, they could have Maddog take the game winner... I mean, who would expect that!?!?!
