TOPIC: Is this season REALLY that bleak?

Re:Is this season REALLY that bleak? 2 years, 7 months ago #34192

The only thing that would allow me to stomach YET ANOTHER low 20 win season is if Rubio is playing for us this year. Unfortunately, it does not appear that will be the case.

We are going to be beyond awful, and boring to watch (again.)
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

i predict 18/22 W this season. but i also think that flynn is going to compete for the ROY with 15/16 points and 4/5 assists

Flynn will have no chance at winning ROY, because we are going to have such a pathetic win total.

But I can tell you who WILL be in the ROY running:

Ty Lawson, because we traded him on draft night.

I hate to be the negative guy too, but I cant disagree with you.

The way the roster stands today, the idea of spending another winter with this team isnt a pretty thought. However, I would be pretty shocked if Kahn didnt make a few more moves to balance out the roster.

If Brewer starts plays 30+ minutes I have a hard time seeing him only scoring 6ppg. That would be all time bad.

Kevin Love will also be well above 12 ppg because that is what he scored last year in game he was playing 25 minutes. Even without improvement the extra 10 minutes he'll surely get will put him around 15 ppg.

That is somewhat splitting hairs though... this team is going to struggle to score.

Brewer is terrible. I don't see him scoring more than 6-8 ppg, at best.

And it's sad because he was definitely the guy I wanted us to draft that year. Too bad we took the wrong Gator (Noah.)

I was basing that remark on the GildedWolf assumption that he is the starter. If he is played as the starter, (30 mpg minimum) looking at last years numbers (20 minutes and 6 ppg) it'd seem he'll be closer to 10 ppg.

If he is relegated to the bench and 20 mpg which is probably more likely he'll be stuck at 6-8.

Brewer will do nothing spectacular this year. I think it will be Ellington who will surprise a lot of people....

to CW:
do you remember the brandon roy ROY title? he had great stats but his team sucked. bargnani was the sixth man of the raptors averaging 12 + 3,5 and he helped A LOT the raptors in their road for the playoffs and the Atlantic Confernce title.
so i'm considering flynn a candidate for that title

PS: i agree. ty lawson will average 20 + 10 ^^ billups is going to be his back up

I based some of my predictions on the fact that we have no scoring threats other than Al Jefferson. It will effect the ability of the average to below average players from scoring.
That is why I say someone like Love is not going to see an increase. The paint is going to be extremely crowded. We have NO outside shooting and teams will collapse in on us. That will limit any effectiveness Love may have as well as Jefferson.
Brewer, uh he sucks. The only thing he can do is supposedly defend, but I am at a loss in identifying someone he has ever shut down. His play will be affected by the injury and recovering from it. It will take at least a year on court for him to recover if he ever does. That is the same for Jefferson.
I was conservative in my PPG predictions. But, can you really see this team as it is score more than 90 points a game?

As our squad is currently constructed? No, I cannot.

If you are a bad enough team the opponents skate after the 1st half. Reference McCants scoring 15ppg in 25mpg in 2007-08.
