The kid looks good! A natural floor leader.

but how about Sergio LLull!!! Holy sh*t that kid can play! The Rockets got him last yr in the second round! We should be doing the same thing with 2nd round picks.

We got Mavro-something and Pekovic.

Ricky had a good game against CSKA Moscow at the Final Four of Euroleague.

31 Minutes, 10 points (33% on 2-point shots and 66% at 3-point shots), 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, 3 turnovers.
He carried the whole team and now they are going to the finals. You can check highlights at www.euroleague.net

It's hard to argue that he improved his game and that staying in Europe helped him improve faster by playing for a winning team.

Hi guys, back again to give you an update on Rubio.

Yesterday he played the semifinal of the Euroleague competion and his team went through to the final which will be played on Sunday.

Rubio was probably the best player on the court, running the offense very well and his defense was energetic as energetic as aloways. He got 8 assits, record in the Euroleague final four in just over 30 minutes of play.

But better see for yourselves.

These are his game highlights.

Certainly it should translate to more NBA assists. I reckon Rubio will get over 10 assists per game in th NBA even in his first season as long as he is a starter. He needs to improve his shooting and his layups to become lethal in attack, although this season he has remarkedly improved his shooting beyond the 3 point arc, but he rarely shoots.

In Europe the 3 point line is placed 20 ft 6 inches from the basket whereas in the NBA it is from 23 feet 9 inches to 22 feet.

Oh yeah, totally. I can easily see him average 10 or so assists per game in the NBA. He's that good, and his court vision is just ridiculous.

Plus, he won't be shooting much threes (at least at first) due to the increased distance, so I think he'd be mostly a facilitator for a while. At least until he gets the hang of things in the NBA and matures. Then I can see him scoring more points per game down the line.

If the Wolves hire the guy that records Chris Paul's assists, Rubio will average 15 a game.

The league really should crack down on that.

And this is completely off topic, but I'm so sick and tired of seeing lane violations on every single free throw shot in every single NBA game. It's starting to bug me to the point where every time I see freee throws it angers me that the refs don't care about enforcing the rules of the game. It's such an easy thing to crack down on too. Ugh, stupid NBA.

Yeah, the stat-keeping can be soooo shady for home teams at some places. You guys remember that article from last year where that guy (on the Rockets I think?) pretty much told all the dirty secrets about how the stat-keepers inflate stats and whatnot? It was really interesting. I think it was on TrueHoop.

The lane violations don't really make me mad, but I've noticed them too and just think it's stupid they never call them. They really should. It wouldn't take long for players to stop doing it. Whatever. NBA refs suck.

Lastly, I think they need to change the rules for an assist. Like, when a guy makes a pass to someone that gets hacked to shit, when otherwise they would have had a dunk or layup. If the guy makes his free throws, the passer should get an assist. If he makes only 1 of 2 free throws, then the passer should get 0.5 of an assist. I don't see why they don't do that, and it would be really easy to add those stats. They should.

Agreed completely. They need to add that into the rules and then tighten up the requirements for getting an assist otherwise. Like when someone passes to a guy standing on the wing and then he makes his own move and scores. How is that an assist? It had nothing to do with the pass. I think it would balance out and you wouldn't get all these stupid non-assist assists.

Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this. And if they tightened up the rules for an assist, the true playmakers would still put up their numbers. It's just that those stupid assists wouldn't be counted. Even if they don't tighten up the stats, they still need to implement the free throw assists. It makes so much sense. I mean, they still get points, like they would have if the guy didn't get fouled. I don't see how its any different at all. Heck, it's better when they get fouled, because they get to the bonus quicker and its a foul against a player on the other team. Those are like super assists.
