Wow. 100% shooting. 4-1 ASS:TO ratio - in Europe - here he would have had at least 12 assists. 5 STEALS. 24 MINUTES. WOWOWOW.

Give Barcelona money. I. Don't. Fuckin'. Care. How. Besides, he'll look much better in our crappy blue uniform than in that crappy pink uniform
He's the franchise saver!!!

What was I telling you before the draft

Yeah, you are right...
Sigh. And Miller had that 3-point shot we need now... Ah, what would we actually achieve without those two guys? We're doomed for trading them

9Deuce, nice plan. But don't forget Pekovic He's a MONSTER STUD!

We're in a really good position:
3 draft picks this June (two of them probably lottery picks)
around 13-14 million in cap for FA's
rights to Pekovic and Rubio

The only thing that concerns me is how are we going to get money to resign Love in two years? Probably trading Sessions, Brewer and Hollins for expirings, and not spending all the money on FA's. If we sign Gay for ~11 million, it will be great!

See Flash, no need to be pessimistic. Or are you really Flash, and not roundhouse undercover trying to make you look like a bad guy?
Carmelo Anthony: "It's a big game for us. Do I believe we have to win? No. But it's a must-win for us."

The problem is that people here know almost nothing about european basketball, and get overly excited about Rubio.

His performence against Real Madrid ( a top ten euro team ) was very surprising and impressive, the other two games were not.

Manersa is a 7-9 team in the spanish league, and Bilbao is next to last with a 4-12 record. The fact that Rubio took only 8 shots COMBINED against these two lowly teams is alarming. These are the type of games he should be more daring in shooting the ball.

Rubio IS NOT A STUD, he is great passer, but a ONE DIMENSIONAL player. It's a good thing he stayed in Europe, and I don't want him here unless he improves his shooting skils. Otherwise, NBA teams will use his defender to double team Big AL or KLove.

He's only 18. There is plenty of time and opportunity for improvement. And Rubio has as much potential as anyone in the past draft.
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

Barcelona is one of the best 5 teams in Europe. Ricky don't need to shoot more in that team. Barcelona have a lot of scorers like Navarro, Mickeal, Lorbek, Vázquez, Lakovic or Norris. But Ricky dominates the games without shooting. He's special.

Jennings averaged in 27 games, 5.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 steals in 17.0 minutes per game. He shot 35.1 percent from the field and 20.7 percent from 3 point range in Lega A play. And Lega is a worse basketball league than ACB. In Lega there's no great teams (only Montepaschi).

Europe is very different. Here the players don't have to average 20 points per game to be a Europe Star.

Ricky cant shoot, thats why he isnt shooting. Brewer is better shooter than he is.

I'm not saying Ricky isn't a great passer, he is. He's probably a better passer than Jennings and Flynn, but there's more than passing to being a good PG. He MOST DEFINITELY NEEDS to SHOOT MORE, especially when he's playing against bad teams. Until he improves his shooting skills, Flynn and Jennings are better PG than him. Furthermore, Kahn's interview from a few weeks back, shows that the T'Wolves aren't happy with his progress.

I'm also worried about his personality. All that rock star adoration, and his behaviour during the summer buyout negotiations makes me wonder how he's going to handle being a rookie in the NBA. I'm sure most of his teammates won't be thrilled about some cocky european rookie, and will give him some extra rookie treatment. The last thing this team needs is a European version of Starbury.

I hope that he stays in Europe 3 years and after improving his shooting skills, and all the Hype he will get after the 2012 Olympics, trade him for some great assets.

You can improve shooting skills only training hard, but the other skills of Rubio are inborn. Against bad teams, Barcelona win by 20 or 30 soon and they rotate more. Is in great games when you will see the greatest players.

His personality is no as people in USA think. He's no selfish or arrogant. This summer he could not do anything to play in the NBA without risking his pocket. The offer of the Wolves was very fragile financially.

Is only a personal appreciation, but I think that Ricky will be much better than Flynn in a future.

For those of you who get NBA TV; Ricky and Regal FC Barcelona are playing tomorrow at Noon against Asvel Villeurbanne.

It'll be my first time seeing him in a 'live' game.

Watching the game now...

What stands out about Rubio is his intelligence and how he orchestrates the offense. Very fluid. Seems to set up the play then let his guys do the rest.

Also, without seeing a stat line, I think he has 2 steals already midway through the first quarter. Definitely a good defender.

I'll update more later...too many good college games on today as well:

GT vs Duke in a bit, and Georgetown vs UConn right now!
