True THAT.

Well the line in Vegas is Grizz by 3. For once I actually like the Wolves to cover. I will be at this game with the CWolf, it would be great to witness a W.

Wolves - 103
Bears - 101

Isn't it amazing what one win can do for this forum. I'm loving the optimism and will only stop smiling if we lose to Memphis tonight. Matter of fact, lets take a look at these Grizzlies in Tennessee (seriously change the name). And by the way, I'm the first to let you know that Gay and Conley will not be gracing us with their presence, which will compute to a win for us. This information comes from predicted starting lineup written in a Memphis newspaper.

DEPTH CHART:

PG: Jamaal Tinsley, Marcus Williams
SG: OJ Mayo
SF: Sam Young, DeMarre Carroll
PF: Zach Randolph
C: Marc Gasol, Hasheem Thabeet, Hamed Haddadi, Steven Hunter

Injured or Grieving: Mike Conley, Rudy Gay, Darrell Arthur

Hollins' Doghouse: Marko Jaric

aawww shit, I have a meeting at work, oh well:

Wolves Win 101 to 93

Woohooo I believe I have Timberpups coming my way!!!

It was actually a really exciting game I thought. I'm actually glad I went to be honest. It helped that we sat right by the Grizzlies bench despite only buying $5 tickets. Ha. The attendance was listed at 11,408 which is hilarious because the crowd looked like an exhibition crowd. One of the worst I've ever seen. I'd guess 7,500 people were actually there. At best.

Anyways, the Wolves should have won and outplayed Memphis for most of the game. We lost because of how horribly we played in the third quarter. Our offense was stagnant, had no flow, no rhythm, no nothing. We also had 6 or 7 turnovers in the third quarter, maybe more.

Overall our defense was solid... except Al. He sucks. Wilkins, Gomes, and Sessions were especially good I thought.

I can't believe how bad Memphis is for the amount of talent they have. The players must not get along with each other, or something. Who the hell knows.

Ellington played well and Sam Young could be a baller. Seemed a bit "ballhog-ish" to me though.

Flynn had decent stats. He should have drawn more fouls, especially his drive at the end. 9 assists to 2 turnovers, well done Jonny!

Oh, and Thabeet is HUGE. And terrible. Very, very, very terrible.

Wolves MVP - Gomes 20 points, 5 boards. Usually he plays badly at PF but this is 2 games in a row now that he's been our best player while starting at PF. He's the only 3 point threat on our entire team which is really sad

Grizzles MVP - Z-Bo Tough choice between him, Gay, and Conley but I went with Randolph b/c of 20 points and 10 boards

Flynn: His PG skills keep improving. 9 assists to 2 TOs. Although his defense does not. Mike Conley with an injured shoulder had a career shooting night against him

Sessions: It's like him and Flynn have switched roles. Sessions is the scorer now and Flynn is more of a PG

Wilkins: Solid at everything, I'm digging him in the starting lineup

AL: Too small to play center any more after he lost all that weight thus why he is having terrible games when he starts at center

Brewer: Only took 3 shots. I can't complain with that

Jawai: STUD! 8 points, 5 boards, and 5 fouls. Exactly what we need him to do in limited minutes

Ellington: meh, not impressed with anything he does

I agree, it was an enjoyable game to watch.

Our PGs. They are both good. They have the potential to take over games and can be very aggressive. They both make mistakes but I think will improve. I enjoyed seeing them play together.

Al. Good grief. He was the most dominant low post scorer the game has seen in a long time. I have no reason to believe he will not return to form.

It was weird to see Pavlovic play. He played lock down defense and was distributing to ball aronfd the court like a PG but did not take shots. Perhaps underd orders from Rambis?

I think we saw a little bit of what Ellington can bring to the table.

Many of the turnovers were caused by tremendous passes that were dropped by the receiver or not expected.

Why do you suppose Brewer did not shoot the ball? Again, maybe orders from Rambis.

I heard OJ Mayos name mentioned 3 times during the whole game. ????

Conelly scored on Jonny because he took and made an unprecidented number of 3's.

More than anything, we need Gomes to be a consistant player.

Pavlobrick! He is worthless to this team because if he's not scoring then he shouldn't be playing. Brewer and Wilkins can do anything that he does, but better.

Hopefully. He's a much better player when he's not jacking up shots that have no chance of going in the basket.

Wide open 3's...

Pavlobrick sucks. He shouldn't play. He's not part of our future.

Brewer is so much better for the team when he is not jacking up 15 shots per game... definitely right about that.

That's my point. You don't guard the 3 point line against someone who doesn't normally take/make them.

Like CWolf said, this was one of the more exciting Wolves games I have been to in awhile. It probably helped that he and I sat next to the 2 drunkest dudes in the whole stadium, and they provided us with many laughs and much entertainment.

Wilkins impresses me with his grit and professionalism.

Cardinal was 1 foul away from a coveted 4 trillion.

I cannot decide if I like Rambis' uber-quick hook or not. He hooked Al 5 minutes into the 3rd (I'm not sure for what specifically), and J-Fly 1 minute later after he took an off-balanced baseline jumper.

Sometimes I feel like J-Fly is in a catch-22. With 40 seconds left and us down 2, Rambis was noticeably pissed that JFly didn't push the ball and go for a quick easy score. But my question is: How was J-Fly supposed to know that? He probably assumed Rambo wanted him (yeah that right, I called him Rambo) to set up the offense.

I don't think Gomes gets enough crap for being streaky. He isn't as "consistent" as his reputation would have you believe. 27 & 20 in his last 2? Where were those games the past month?

Gotta love Big Nate.

Basically every time I sit close I notice how averse Al is to even attempting to play good defense for much of the game. For some reason it is way more noticable when you are sitting close than sitting farther away or watching on TV.

I was impressed overall with our team defense in the clutch. We locked down pretty good. Too bad we can't rebound without Cali Love.

I have yet to see "Wally lookalike guy" aka Mike Rylander get a t-shirt throw into the upper deck, even though he took exception to me calling him out on it in my article last year. He always is so close, but never quite makes it.

Sam Young is a ballhog.

OJ is a pimp.

I wish College Wolf would bet Wolves Moneyline for every game he goes to with me, as he cheered a lot more and was a lot less cynical than he has been at a game in a long time.
