the last time i posted here my posts were much too lame and almost cynical...thats not my style at all. im an optimist. lets talk bout what could happen here:

scenario 1
we either have an obnoxious last month of the season win streak or just get crushed in the lottery again (like 92).

so we have to draft 4th...our guy doesnt work out. dave kahn turns out to be a hack. glen stops caring all together and goes into frugal owner mode. rambis cant get a grip on anyone. big al sulks. k love spouts off. brew was a one-season wonder. gomes is old. sessions is no good. ellington doesnt pan out. peckovic doesnt come. rubio doesnt come. college wolf and mad-dogg 04 off themselves. and 2011 is historically bad, even for this franchise.

scenario 2
WE GET A TOP 2 DRAFT PICK AND HAVE EITHER JOHN WALL OR EVAN TURNER NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!

think about this...this is currently MORE likely to happen than scenario 1. I don't know if I've ever seen 2 more sure things in the same draft. not in this century at least. WE ARE GONNA HAVE ONE OF THESE GUYS!!!

Look at what the other sure things have done lately... Rose - In his 1st 2 years, chicago became a playoff team. and hes on the come up for sure. Durantula aka The Icecycle - They are only the FIFTH seed in the West with a top 4 under 25. Lebron, Dwight Howard, etc etc.

So we get TURNER OR WALL...AND have Rubio (another sure thing!) comin soon. Dude... RUBIO, WALL or TURNER, plus a growing K.LOVE, AL (or whatever we trade him for), Pekovic could be in the mix, Brewer, Flynn, ellington will all be in the mix. Hollins NOT. We have a lot of $, so even though we arent getting a top tier, we get a dude...we could be just like the thunda in a couple of years. ANYYYTTTHIIIINNNGGGSSSS POSSSSIBBLLEEEE!!!!

Here's some even crazier thoughts:

1.We land the #1 and take Wall.

2.We trade Rubio's rights and a second rounder for #2 and take Turner.

3.We trade Flynn and big Al to Philly for Dalembert and there 1st pick, currently #7 and take PF Donatas Montiejunas.

4.We draft SG James Anderson from OK ST with our 2nd 1st Round Pick, currently 17.

5.We draft SF Paul George from Fresno ST with our last 1st Round Pick, currently 24. I'd also like Epke Udoh or Damion James here.

6.Lastly, we pick SF Darington Hobson of New Mexico with our 1st (and only pick we should keep, unless it's a player to store overseas) 2nd Round Pick. The other cat I'd be okay with here is Greivis Vasquez.

7.We let the following cats walk: Pavlobrick, Jawai, Pecherov, Tucker, Wilkins.

8.Let Gomes go/trade em/keep em? I don't know...

9.Find a way to keep Darko. I like em for his D. Though he prolly won't stay.

So, here would be our lineup:

PG-Wall/Sessions/Turner
SG-Turner/Ellington/James Anderson
SF-Brewer/Paul George/Darington Hobson
PF-Love/Donatas Montiejunas/Gomes?
C-Dalembert/Darko/Hollins

I'd also be extremely happy for a lineup that looked like this:

PG-Rubio
SG-Turner
SF-Brewer
PF-Love
C-??

Also that is an awesome offseason. I'd prefer to slip Whiteside in there somewhere instead of the 4th wing (Anderson, Hobson, or George), we still seem to be lacking interior defense with that lineup.

But great trade/draft ideas. I like the idea of saying "screw it, our role players suck, let's use the draft to load up on cheap, exciting young talent."
