Awesome. Can't wait to see what this guy can do. I can't believe it's been two years. I mean it was only two years ago? Seems like we drafted him a long time ago and had him stash in Europe for a long time. I guess it seems long because everything has change since we drafted him, well, except for the losing. But, I'm glad it's done, was getting worry that it won't happen.

This guy is a beast and I think this guy will help the Wolves out a lot.

Here is a good in-depth scouting report with videos:

I haven't watched the videos yet (thank you work youtube blocker), but reading break down the player I most think of is Big Baby. BB Davis shows how far using your butt and having a little touch around the rim can get you even without any plays being ran your way.

If this dude is a taller version of Baby, we're in good shape!

Kinda reminds me of KMART when he came into the league. Maybe not as dynamic but just a brute who will get his position and doesn't care who is in his way. I think he will work nice with K-Love and Beasley with some flexibility for the 4 or 5. Can't wait to see some bodies fly when he gets in there. We've been pushed around too long in the POST, not this year. Darko and him need a nick name. The two Wild and Crazy Slovakians, or something like that. -Pistol Pete
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

He seems so much like a 4 to me. Hopefully he can effectively play the 5.

McHale really put Peko forward as a Center. I don't really think Kahn has. Though I have a feeling he'll be the main small ball center just because that's where the minutes are.

"The Serbian Stockade"

"The Great European Embankment"

"15 Feet of Foreign Fortification"

Or, when referring to just one of them we could use "The Slo-Mo From Montenegro"

Peko is like getting a Christmas present. No one really has a clue what we have until he takes the floor. It's a complete surprise really to us and the rest of the league.
"I am Nikola. Prince of Montenegrin and keeper of the secrets of the Target Center. This is Cringer... my fearless friend. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the day I held aloft my magic shoelace and said... By the power of the Target Center!

I have the POOOOWWWWWWEEEEERRRR!! Cringer became the Mighty Battle Kitten Rambis, and I became HE-PEK the most powerful man in the NBA. Only a few others share this secret... Our friends: Coach Laimbeer, Pricky Pubio. and Darko. Together we defend the Target Center from the evil forces of McHaleletor's Pocket Rockets. "

What people do not know about is that this should seriously appease Ricky Rubio. Rubio knows Pekovic way better than anyone in the NBA, having faced him in the final stages of the Euroleague. He watched in person as the Pecker kept cracking skulls of his teammates in the post. After this, whenever he thinks Timberwolves he can add "that big serbian beast is already there...".

I expect Peko to open eyes with his play. He's underrated... just as Marc Gasol was coming into the league. Now Marc is a solid 15/10 legit defense C. As you can read, Nikola has to work on his rebounding (altough it won't hurt the team as much - he'll be playing next to K-Love after all) and help defense. But he's a hard-worker so I think he'll be fine.

Pekovic is more C than PF and he is better than Milicic. He will be much better than BigBaby and Marc Gasol and yes he reminds a little of Kenyon Martin because of his strenth. Pekovic is stronger than Milicic has better hands and he is much better back to basket scorer. I watched Pekovic playing since he was a kid and i can tell you that he is the best deal this summer. And he reminds me of Al Jefferson because of the ability to score in the low post. You will be suprised by him and i hope he will get the right position that is C and the right minutes to prove how good he is.

But there is only one real PF on the roster that's Love. Pekovic is more a C and Beasley is more a SF. Rambis will have to find the right combination but i don't belive to much in Rambis...

Very nice, thanks for the info.

That's perfect for our roster, by the way!

SF: Beasley and Wes Johnson
PF: Mostly Love, with Beasley playing some backup.
C: Pekovic and Darko splitting time depending on matchups and/or foul situation, who's playing well, etc.

I'm excited about Pekovic. He is a complete unknown here in the states, so it will be fun to see how he pans out.

I also have a warm place in my heart for back to the basket guys with killer post moves. It is becoming more of a lost art all the time, and from what I hear Big Pecker has it.
