Actually, lately the seeding doesn't have that much value because the West is Lakers and then a toss up between 2 and 8. I mean, SAS was #7 and beat DAL #2... but then lost to PHX #3. The East is more polarized with Miami/Orlando/Boston occupying the top 3 and winning their Round 1 matchup... but then it's Milwaukee, Chicago, Atlanta and Charlotte -> anything can happen.

I said it some time ago, I have nothing against my team being a perennial #6-8 seed and fighting their way to Round 1 where they usually lose. For one, as said ealier, being 6-8 in the West is not bad... two; at least we sniff playoff action. After so many losing seasons, I beg for years like the ones pre-2004 run when we at least were playoff contenders.

I see your point but I have a different opinion. I'd rather miss the playoffs and have a lottery pic and a chance at a John Wall or Kevin Durant type than be a one and done every year. That's just me. Except for 2012 cuz Clips are gonna get our Lottery pick (dammit thanks McFail).

Looks like a 3 player draft new year, Harrison Barnes, Perry Jones & Jared Sullinger(I'm discounting the internationals at this point, Vesely, Montiejunas & Valanciunas cuz I'm not sure they'll declare).

Whatcha wanna bet the Timberwolves end up in the bottom seven in the league (no particular order just my list of bottom dwellers; Wolves, Nets, Golden State, Wizards, Cleveland, Toronto, maybe Clippers) and do not get a premium Top 3 pick.

I'm thinking it's about our time but I have a hard time envisoning it. 44

PS: Of course we could not qualify for a Top 3 pick cuz we made the playoffs...have a harder time envisoning that scenario.

Of course we won't get a Top 3 pick, we never get lucky in the lottery.

Watch us get a Top 3 in 2012 pick by being super lucky, and then have to give it away to the Clippers...
