Wolves looking to sign Anthony Tolliver? 1 year, 6 months ago #51382

I wonder how much they would pay him?

Springfield native and basketball free agent Anthony Tolliver is closing in on selecting his next National Basketball Association team.

He said today that he likely will sign with the Golden State Warriors (where he played last season) or the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“I haven’t made a decision yet,” Tolliver said in a telephone interview, “but we’re getting there and I hope to have a decision soon.

“Once they have their final (financial) figure and years guaranteed, that’s when I plan on making my decision — unless somebody comes in late,” he added.

The 6-foot-9 Tolliver turned two 10-day contracts into a three-month stay last season with Golden State. He averaged 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in 44 games.

If he'll fill similar holes Hollins did (athletic backup in the post) I have nothing against this signing. He's similar to Tyrus Thomas whom some wanted to see on this team and can be had for a similar deal as Hollins. His numbers are inflated by the circus that went on in GSW and he'll play spot minutes here and there as a SF/PF/small-ball C - I have nothing against that.

Word is GSW initial offer was "highly dissapointing" but they upped it since then and he really wants to stay (the Wolves are probably offering slightly more, hence he's still waiting). I see him joining us since GSW is set up front with Biedrins/Lee/Udoh/B.Wright/Radmanovic/Gadzuric... that's really a logjam, even if they're cutting Gadzuric and/or Radman.

They don't really have a logjam at all. They'll probably cut Gadzuric and Radmanovic. If they don't, those two will never play anyways.

Also, Udoh is out 6 months because of his wrist surgery.

I'm guessing 3 mil for 3 (9 mil total)years all three guaranteed. GS won't pay that much and KAHN will cuz he's in good shape and they are not. We'll see soon.
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

Oh and Tolliver is Sessions all over again. Kahn thinks he is worth more than the contract so he wants to sign him regardless of fit. It is dumb.

It's like when your shopping in the grocery store and your a little hungry and you go down the ailse and notice the big bags of DORITOS are on sale. You don't need more DORITOS but you want them and they are cheap today, so you buy them. Tolliver is a bag of DORITOS on sale to KAHN. mmm... Love DORITOS... -Pistol Pete

Um... from what I remember of seeing Anthony Tolliver, that cat has some range. Granted he was playing in GS, but I recall him knocking down treys. I'm not saying we should sign him, but he can be our new Stewie.
I have absolutely NO ties to Minnesota. No family/friends there, no one I know that's a fan of anything Minnesota, and never set foot anywhere close to there.

I'm just a normal guy who randomly picked the wrong team to cheer for as a kid.

"I am Nikola. Prince of Montenegrin and keeper of the secrets of the Target Center. This is Cringer... my fearless friend. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the day I held aloft my magic shoelace and said... By the power of the Target Center!

I have the POOOOWWWWWWEEEEERRRR!! Cringer became the Mighty Battle Kitten Rambis, and I became HE-PEK the most powerful man in the NBA. Only a few others share this secret... Our friends: Coach Laimbeer, Pricky Pubio. and Darko. Together we defend the Target Center from the evil forces of McHaleletor's Pocket Rockets. "
