Hello to all T-wolves fans. My name is Vladimir and i'm from Macedonia (i supose many of you don't know where that is well between Greece and Serbia). Today i decided to write my first post here on twolvesblog. I'm a huge basketball fan and i've been following euro basketball and nba basketball for about 10 years. Big fan of Minnesota Timberwolves and also a Celtics fan. Let me explain to you. The reason i started watching nba was Kevin Garnett he is my favorite player and because of KG i really loved this francise. Since he was traded to the Celtics i got 2 favorite teams in nba. Minnesota Timberwolves which i love as a francise and Boston Celtics because of KG. I guest you are asking yourself whats wrong with this guy and why is he a Minnesota fan. I know whats the situation but i really really want to see this team on the top. I'm reading your threads for a few months and i can see you are desperate but my goal here is to meet new people and i'm looking forward to spend time on this blog. Excuse me for the long post maybe i will bother you but i just want to fit better here. And i will try to tell you something more about the europian players which i've been watching in the serbian ang greek league for a few years. I've been studing English for a long time and if i make some mistakes please forgive me

Enough introduction let's talk about the Timberwolves.

First i agree with you that David Kahn don't know what he is doing. His biggest mistake was Kurt Rambis and that triangle offense. What about the defense? We are terrible defensive team.
Second i want to say some words about this year deals. The draft was ok. Wesley Johnson is very athletic plus he can shoot but doesn't have a ball handling skill or strenth. He may not be an all star but he will be a very good player. I want Favors to be drafted and for Cousins a don;t like him but few teams were asking Sacramento about him so i guest if we drafted him we would be able to make good trade for him but Wes is ok. Bjelica is definitivly great and Hayward i don't know. Two deals that i'm dissapoint are: Darko Milicic deal and Gomes trade. Why? I really liked Ryan gomes he was one of my favorite Wolves since KG was traded and Luke Babbit is going to be a good player don;t get me wrong Webster is ok but the price we paid is to high so that is the worst deal Kahn made this summer. And Milicic contact? Common i watched Milicic before he came in the nba he will never be a good player belive me. Beasley trade was great but that wasnt Kahn magic that was Riley getting rid if Beasley. And i agree that Jefferson shoud be traded but we get only 2 first rounders for him? hmmm i think we could get more.

Now just a few words about the europian players. Like i sad Milicic i dont like him and i think he is limited. Nikola Pekovic deal was maybe the best Kahn did all summer. He is going to be a very very good player. Big 6'11 very strong atheltic and low post scorer. Pekovic is more a C then PF and he is better than Milicic. Pekovic and Love should play in the starting line up but that will not be the case. I can tell you that with Pekovic you wont miss Jefferson to much because he is stronger than many nba centars plus he has amazing abbility to score in the low post. Bjelica - you get a steal with 35th pick please sign him. He is a copy of Turkoglu. 6'10 point forward who has better ball handling skills than some point guads he can pass tha ball very well he can rebound not just on the defensive end but also offensivly but the best about him is his basketball IQ.

I think this is enough for my first post and i hope you like it and i hope i will fit good here. And it's not everything black people i think there is hope for the t-wolves. Thank you for reading this.

Vladimir

We are happy to have you. I love the take on Darko and Peko. If Peko is as good as billed then the Wolves will have a very reasonably priced starting/backup Center situation.

I'm glad you are a Gomes fan. One thing I'm worried about with this team is leadership. Gomes was clearly the off the court leader of last years team. He kept things positive even when they weren't. Could you imagine a better player for the Clippers to add?
Thank you for the baton Mr. Kidd - Pretty Ricky

Great fisrt post and we are very glad to have you Vladimir! It's always great to see new members, especially diverse ones that are knowledgeable and long-time fans of the team. Hope to see you around and commenting with us.

I also am glad you can give us info on some of the foreign guys (as do some of our other members here as well), since it's hard for us in the States to know a ton about some of these guys.

Lastly, don't worry about your English. No one will judge you on that, and it is pretty good from your post.
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

Definitely a great signing for the Clippers. I wish Gomes could have been able to sign with a contender, but oh well, at least he'll be playing somewhere.

That's interesting. I started watching the NBA mostly because of KG, I became a fan of the team when KG was here and I'm from Bulgaria (that's next to Macedonia)

I agree with all you said, except one thing. If Webster proves he can shoot well, than the price (Babbitt+Gomes) is worth it.

Oh, and I'd rate the Milicic deal as "decent". It's not good, but it's not THAT bad.

Thanks Vlade, nice to have you on board. Great post, hope to hear more from you in the future. My fav was Garnett also and that's why I watch the Celtics now. Also like the Lakers cuz they started in Minnesota long ago before the moved to LA (dammit). And the Timberwolves cuz I always wanted an NBA team here after the Lakers left (before my time).

Like what they are doing setting it up for Rubio to run a young run and shoot team with some stout (if white and slow) centers. Think we're on the right track, just need some star power. Love could develop, Beasley will probably bust out or get busted. Johnson was a nice find but shoulda got Cousins (dummy KAHN). They'll be easier to watch this year but if they get on a long losing streak early it might sink'em for the year. Oh well there's always another lottery pick. I might even watch Miami this year cuz I'm sure they're gonna be on TNT a lot. I mean a lot. -Pistol Pete 44 (Favorite player all-time)

Now you know why I want Rubio over here, reminds me of Pistol (sigh)without the great scoring ability but better passer.
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

Welcome great first post! Hopefully Pek starts over Darko if your right!

@ Perryp: It's hard to compare RR with The Pistol! Pistol scored 10x as much as Rubio does! Only comparison between them is there passing ability! The fact that there both white is the only reason anyone compares him to Pistol Pete! Pistol could shoot RR can not!!!

Yeah, the more I think about the Martell deal the more I don't hate it at all. Martell could definitely (probably will) be the best player out of Gomes/Babbit/Webster for the next 2 years...

For what it's worth, I would have taken Jordan Crawford or James Anderson at #16, and they could both easily be better than Webster.

My thoughts exactly. Right on. I don't think Babbitt is gonna be a player in this league very long. Don't know why, just don't think so. I wanted Anderson cuz he can flat out shoot with range and score. I thought it was a little too early for Crawford but he'll stick in the league too, kinda like Redick from Orlando. Give him a year or so to figure it out then he can contribute from the bench.

At the time personally I was hoping for Whiteside! But Anderson imo is the better of the two(Crawford). James is a shooter, just what we had needed, someone else to strech the d. Would've been just fine with drafting him over having to trade Gomes as well. Gomes could have been involved in another trade or we could have just cut him or kept him for a veteran presence. Either way would've worked. I do remember Kahn saying he didn't like any of the draftees going in the 16 spot so he makes the trade for Webster. I think they misjudged some talent cause there were plenty of guys I had liked left!!

I also liked Damion James from Texas. I think he's gonna be a strong player for the NETS. He's going to be one of those players that does better in the NBA than he did in college. Just a brute and great motor. He is going to inflict his will on you no matter what. I like that in a player. Kinda like KJ a little in that regard. I think Whiteside is going to be a player also although a project right now. Devan Ebanks is going to make it in this league also as a defensive specialist and hustle guy. But we settle for Martel Webster. I hope he can get it together here cuz he wasn't going anywhere in Portland.

Agreed with you both. Nice posts fellas.

And yeah, I think Kahn totally botched that #16/Webster trade. I would have loved a ton of guys with that pick, plus Webster's contract is not good.
