So a friend of mine who lives in the cities, attends lots of Wolves games, has a lot of money, and likes to bet kept talking to me about how he liked the Wolves squad for the upcoming season. And he hates LeBron now after what he did, etc. So he said if I gave him good odds, he would bet $100 that the Wolves beat the Heat in Miami by double digits when they play this year! Sorry guys, but I had to do it. I mean who couldn't use an extra hundro? So I gave him 10 to 1 odds and we had witnesses verify the deal (via emails). It's a little scary putting up $1000, and it sucks betting against your team, but at the same time, it's basically in the bag.

To summarize: If the Wolves beat the Heat in Miami by double digits, I lose $1000. If the Heat win or the Wolves win by single digits, I win $100.

Thoughts?

I'd have a hard time putting up $1k to win $100 bucks no matter what the you are betting on. Seems like the odds of it happening are just so crazy. Will the Wolves win 2 games this season by double digits? Will Miami lose 2 games this season by double digits?

Yeah, you're safe. We have nobody that can guard Wade or LeBron, let alone both of them.

You just gotta hope that something crazy like injuries, death in the family doesn't knock out Wade/LBJ. Might be worth including that clause.

I haven't checked the schedule, but make sure it's not a game that they would tank like at the end of the season.

If the Heat are healthy and trying, there's just no way you lose.

You have to realize this is still the NBA!!!! Any team on any given night can win!!!! There's no way in hell the Heat don't lose at least a few games by double digits!!!! Don't care who they fill there roster out with!!!! The 72-10 Bulls team even lost one game by double digits and I put this Heat squad no where even near that TEAM!!!!

But in this case, the odds are way better than 10 to 1, so it's a semi-smart bet.

The Heat will definitely lose more than 1 game by double digits. With 82 games, there's too many opportunities. Celtics/Lakers might be close games, but there will definitely be a night when they snooze to say, the Blazers or something like that, and get beat.

If you trying to compare the Heat to that Bulls team I'm laughing!!! Was the best TEAM the NBA has ever seen. I'd take Pippen and Jordan over any 3 STARS in the league now!!! I'm just saying if the BEST TEAM ever assembled lost by double digits it's fair to bet every team is capable of losing by 10+. I'm not saying the Wolves are beating the Heat!!! Are you confident you could have predicted that ONE game out of 82 that the Bulls lost by 10+ points? I am also willing to guess it wasn't against a bad team like the TWolves.
