TOPIC: Team USA vs. Greece

Team USA vs. Greece 1 year, 5 months ago #52281

http://espn.go.com/extra/fiba/boxscore?gameId=300827930

Great game for KLove in 12 minutes off the bench. 10 points, 12 boards (nice!), 1 assist, and 3 steals.

I couldn't watch the game, but the boxscore is above.
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

Those stats are pretty awesome for only 12 minutes If he could replicate those stats in that time for the Wolves, he'll be the best player on the team. But he won't. He'll average something like 15 points and 12 boards for 30-35 minutes per game

15 and 12 isn't bad at all. Too bad some websites on the internet think KLove is the second coming of Christ... and project him to average like 24 points and 18 rebounds per 40 minutes, or some stupid shit like that.

But yeah, he clearly won't dominate in the NBA like he did against Greece. I mean, I think we all know that. He's just too undersized and not athletic enough.

Haha, a comment from said website:

With 12 minutes of playing time, Kevin Love got 10 pts and 12 rebounds, what if he plays 24 minutes??? 20/20? 18/18? 15/15?

Maybe if he plays 36 minutes per game? He'll average like 30 and 30!!!!!!!!

15 points is too low to consider his season a success. For him to be a leader on the team he'll need to be more involved than that. Kevin is mentally built to be a leader so I'll be scared if he isn't.

35mpg/18pgb/11rpb -> Success stat-wise.

He's said Rambis told him to work hard on his outside game so that'll affect his rebounding a bit.
Thank you for the baton Mr. Kidd - Pretty Ricky

Those stats work for me. Depends on what his FG% is though. Hopefully at least 50%+ but probably not if he's shooting more 3's.

15ppg for Love is fine as long as Beasley or someone else is scoring in the 20s or near there.

I watch the end of the USA vs Greece game and Love was putting on a offensive rebounding clinic. It was fun to see.

Klove looked slow, flat footed and was overpowered by Greece's third string center. The majority of his production came in the second half when they were up by 20 plus pts. I think his production will increas this year, but to think he is a 25/10 player is a stretch. Same thing applies to Rubio, to think he is the savior(25/10) is off the wall. I think he will be like a Mark Jackson pt. guard 13pts/10ast. Both great players and something to look forward to, but the scoring star of this team has not surfaced yet.

I didn't see the game either but when I have watched K-Love with this team he was the slowest player on the floor. His bball smarts/quick hands and rebounding ability are keeping him above some of the rest. I doubt he will ever overcome his lack of nba caliber athletic ability and become an elite PF.

I don't think that KAHN and Rambis this he is the starting PF on a championship team. When his value gets high (maybe this year) and the trade winds are blowing the right way, I bet they trade him. Just a hunch. I could be wrong. But I think Rambis would like to have a more athletic dominate PF than Kevin can become. Until then GO K-LOVE. 44
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

I bet Josh Smith would remind Rambis of another Lakers PF from the past -- James Worthy. Both similar players. I can see Josh Smith getting lobs from Ricky Rubio now. Oh baby, sports center here we come.

James Worthy (against Bird and McHale)
