Allen Iverson trade to the Pistons! 2 Months ago Howls: 124
Wow! It would be the second time in two years he's traded...

My preliminary thoughts are good move for the Pistons? Should be a good rental and clears a lot of salary off the books. Billups was/is losing his mojo and Stuckey will take over as the starter next year anyways.

Very interesting. I don't know how I feel yet. I have to analyze it a bit. The Nuggets are apparently thinking of buying out McDyess? Why? K-Mart is far from consistent. If that's the case, he could just come right back...It'd look better for the Pistons. I still don't know yet.

It's a nice deal for both teams. I like it especially for Detroit - Joe Dumars knows what he's doing. They will clear 35mill (!!!) off the books after AI and SHeed expirte and still have their young core (Stuckey, Maxiell, Amir Johnson, Tay Prince) intact. Add Rip Hamilton to lead them and possible FA signings - wow.

Pistons just made themselves much healthier financially and still remained a top-2 power in the East.

Denver beefed up ti fight for the playoffs in the tough west. Oh god, can this be even tougher with 7 (8 including Portland, not including Clips and GSW) very, very good teams?

I would expect to not make Denver any worse, and to make Detroit better. So I like this deal for both teams, but especially for Detroit. It just seemed like Detroit was stagnant and needed a change. It will be interesting to see how AI fits into Detroit. Maybe this change will help rejuvinate CB1 a bit as well. He grew up in Denver, so maybe he's excited about this?

Good for Detroit and Carmelo. Iverson is better than Billups and now Carmelo's fat ass don't have to worry about Iverson taking all his shots.

Really surprised by this trade, guess things didn't work with A.I. and Carmello as planned. I don't get why the Nuggets won't keep McDyess though, wasn't he always a fan favorite there before leaving a few years back?

Well the cap space for Detroit is special work and Denver have a legit PG to give JR Smith and Melo free rein.

I wonder if they had got this deal done earlier whether this could have spared Denver trading Camby for a salary dump?

Detroit is going to have an UNREAL amount of salary space this summer if they let AI and Rasheed expire. Think they are saving it to make a run at someone in 2010? Or, what do you think their plan is? If they let those two go, they are definitely rebuilding. However, they've got some great young pieces so rebuilding won't take long.

With $35mil up their sleeve, the world is their oyster. On top of the talent that is still there, that is two high quality free agents.

Yeah, after looking at the salary cap implications, this seems to be a great trade for Detroit, even moreso than I initailly thought. I don't really know what the plan is over in Denver. Ever since the Camby thing I am just confused by them.

I'd guess Rasheed will be resigned by Detroit. They are getting thin on the front line.
