TOPIC: Top 10 Players of All-Time For Every NBA Team

Re:Top 10 Players of All-Time For Every NBA Team 1 year, 5 months ago #52332

Does anyone read these or care? Or am I just wasting my time posting it all here?
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

That's all I needed to hear to keep doing this and posting the results for every single team.

I like the series and enjoy seeing where certain guys who are still playing are compared to their teams history. So keep pumping out the results

Top Ten Rockets:

As usual, here are my votes. I dunno if I was just stupid or what, but the results aren't how I voted:

1) Hakeem
2) Calvin Murphy
3) Rudy T.
4) Moses Malone
5) Elvin Hayes

Here's the site and search I used to make my choices. It's the stats for all seasons for everyone who has been on a given team:

Rockets are a tough team to rank because The Dream aside they had a number of very good players for 5 years or less. That makes things messy.
Thank you for the baton Mr. Kidd - Pretty Ricky

Exactly! It was really tough.

I soooo wanted to put in YAO and his 5 All-NBA team awards, but it was just too close and he's missed too many games.

The moment you've ALL been waiting for... the Top 10 Indiana Pacers!!!

www.hoopsmanifesto.com/articles/basketba...ers-of-all-time.html

1) Reggie: Pretty easy call here. Has 111 more win shares(!!!) than the second highest guy (Roger Brown), and has scored over 25,000 points in his Pacers career. You rarely see that anymore these days for one single team. And Reggie probably could have kept playing if he had wanted to!

2) Rik Smits: I have this friend named "Ryan", who love love love love LOVES Rik Smits. He's pretty much his favorite player ever in the history of the world. Hell, Rik Smits might actually be "Ryan's" dad. And Rik was Dutch. Those are the reasons he's my number two guy.

3) Dale Davis: Big Dale Davis fan here. He's my kind of player. I appreciate the physical maulers that are also productive. And I know that I sure as hell would never want to get in a fight with him.

4) Roger Brown: Can't really say I know much about this guy; although he has the second most win shares in Pacers history, and did manage to score over 10,000 points.

5) Danny Granger: I kind of put him here as a nod towards the future. If he stays with the Pacers, he could be the second best Pacer ever behind Reggie.

Top ten Clippers. Yikes, the options are limited here:

1) Randy Smith - A sad, sad franchise when this is your number 1 guy. There just aren't... many good options here. The Clippers make the TWolves look good.
2) Bob McAdoo - Only played 4 years, but they were four DOMINANT years.
3) Elton Brand - He may not be much for Philly these days, but he was really great those years in LA. He flew under the radar though because their teams were not good.
4) Corey Maggette - The options are limited...
5) Danny Manning - It only seems right, it is the Clippers after all.

No kidding, right? What a sad franchise. And they are waaaaay older than the TWolves.

Here's a good one... the Lakers. So many players to choose from:

1) West: Trying to find any reason to NOT have Kobe Bryant #1. Well, West has 17 more win shares and only 600 less points.
2) Kobe: Probably should be #1, but... ughghghghghg I hate him so much.
3) Kareem: Edges Magic by the narrowest of margins.
4) Magic: See above. Also, trails Kareem in most statistical categories except assists and steals.
5) Shaq: Probably the biggest example of "Oh, what could have been..."
6) Elgin Baylor: Most young bucks don't truly know how great of a player he was. 23,000 career points with the franchise... 6,000 more than Magic!
7) James Worthy: Another statistical beast. Oh, and won some titles too.
8) Gail Goodrich: Good lord this franchise has been loaded with talent over the years. It's almost not even fair...
9) Wilt Chamberlain: Dominant amount of win shares and stats in only 4 seasons.
10) Byron Scott: Notched a lot of stats due to playing 13 years with the team. But he won titles and was pretty productive. Can't discount that for the 10th ranked player.
