The NFL Draft Results... 2 Months, 1 Week ago Howls: 80
Sooo.... any NFL fans have input? Which teams did the best? The worst? Like any of the guys the Vikings got?

I didn't watch much of the draft at all, which was like the first time in 6 years. Oh well, I'm just stoked we got Jared Allen. Plus, we didn't have many early picks anyways.

this was the first draft I didn't watch in years too. I was amused to see that the Vikings didn't take one pick in their given slot.

I'm dubious of the John David Booty pick... I can't say as I know about the rest of the guys.

It was really odd that the Packers drafted 2 QB's. I can't see how they'd have time to work with 3 young guys in camp.

Yea I'm not a John David Booty fan, but hey I'll take all the QB's we can get.

Don't know much about that safety we drafted in the 2nd round, but Mel Kiper says he's the best free safety in the draft so it must be true.

I was really rooting for us to draft Erin Henderson (EJ's brother) towards the end of the draft, but no one drafted him. Maybe we'll sign him as a free agent.

The Chiefs were definately the draft winners thanks to us, they stocked up on good players.

Yeah, I also thought the Chiefs had a solid turnout... then again it helps when you have 13 draft picks.

Dominique Barber didn't go until the 6th Round, I thought that was interesting.

I think the Vikings draft was excellent solely because we got Jared Allen. He's better than anyone we could have drafted at #17.

He need to be better than the guys we would have drafted with 3 picks combined. There seemed to be quite a few solid players still lurking in the 3rd. I'm still a believer in the trade but Jared Allen is really going to have to bring it.

Yeah, probably true. However, that Center we got in the 6th round was one of the top Centers in the draft right? He just slipped because of a "bad" combine showing or whatever? That helps us...

Jacksonville moved up. Incredible. I would NOT have done that. Harvey's stock dropped a lot since the NCAA season. I'd take Jared Allen every day of the week over wasting a 1st rounder and traded picks on Harvey. Wow.

Husain Abdullah S Washington State
Martail Burnett DE Utah
Leger Douzable DT Central Florida
Marcus Griffin S Texas
Steven Hauschka K NC State
Erin Henderson LB Maryland
Nate Jones WR Texas
Travis Key CB Michigan State
Jeremy “J” Leman LB Illinois
Tim Mattran C Stanford
Drew Radovich T USC
Darius Reynaud WR West Virginia
Brandon Sumrall CB S Mississippi
Marcus Walker CB Oklahoma
Kyle Wright QB Miami (Fla.)
Albert Young RB Iowa

This looks like a solid list. If 1-2 make the squad it'd be nice. It should be interesting to see the Booty versus Wright battle for the developmental QB slot. Wright was a huge bust in college given his status as the top QB prospect in his year in HS. It should be interesting to see what he does... (or maybe he craps his pants and it isn't interesting at all).

I like getting a lot of guys from the top programs as unsigned free agents. It seems like with those guys if they got unlucky and were overshadowed by studs. They could be good developmental guys.

Oh he's gonna bring it. You don't get 15.5 sacks in 14 games last year by accident. Unfortunately none of those sacks came in the 4th quarter, being such a highmotor guy he wears himself out. They'll need to work on that.

I love that we have the EJ & Erin Henderson brother combo going on. Weird that they're on the same team, Carson Palmer and his brother are both on the Bengals, and Boss & Champ Bailey are both on the Broncos right now.

I'd hope that the talent level the Vikings have compared to what the chiefs did last year would allow him to have a lot more in the tank for the 4th quarter.

Oh yeah, I think that definitely will be the case. Our above-average linebackers and the Williams Brothers will allow Allen to run amok. It is going to be a glorius sight. We haven't had a stud D-end in sooooooo long.
