TOPIC: 2009 NFL Draft

2009 NFL Draft 2 years, 9 months ago #31276

I personally think Stafford is going to be a bust. What an absurd contract they gave him. That is what is wrong with pro sports. Why did the Lions do that? They had all the leverage. Idiots.

Glad the Vikes drafted Percy Harvin WOOOHOOO! Lets hope he's more Steve Smith than pot smoking bust. He is one of the most explosive playmakers in the draft, so let's hope he lives up to that. We really need him.

Michael Crabtree falling to #10?!?! What the heck is up with that? Wow, the Niners got a STEAL. It reminds me of AP when the Vikes got him at 6. Crabtree could be the best player in the draft down the road, and teams passed on him because he didn't run the 40 yard dash during the combine? I was really, really hoping that the Vikes would trade up to get him...

Bill B. never ceases to amaze. I can't believe the stuff and trades they keep making. Not fair.
Question: "Why do you shoot so many Threes?"

Antoine Walker: "Because there are no Fours."

I've talked myself into Harvin. When Michael Oher fell to the Vikes I was hoping for him but now that I think more this team needs more balance to how it spends money. Going into the draft the WR/TE area was well behind both D and O lines.

I'm with you on Stafford. He looked solid in college but not eye popping. Usually guys who are in the public eye at a big college are hyped a lot if they look like NFL studs. Stafford never was.

I wasn't surprised to see the RB's fall. They were all overrated. Moreno was taken way too high.

Agreed. And on top of that, Denver (OF ALL TEAMS) took Moreno. They already have literally 7 RB's on their roster...

They've been making bizzaro RB decisions for a few years now after Shanny when on that run having the midas touch.

It's just so weird that Josh McDaniels comes in who is supposed to be a "QB guru", then trades away Cutler and reaches for YET ANOTHER RB...

Sometimes these gurus focus on the positions they aren't experts in because they are cocky enough to think they can turn the Kyle Orton's of the world into Tom Brady.

Good point. It will be interesting to see how this goes...

Talk of the draft and no mention of the Raiders and how much of a moron Al Davis is? Absurd. Taking Heyward-Bey at #7 when he could have traded down to the late teens and probably even the mid-20s and still gotten him! Took him with Crabtree, Maclin, and Harvin still on the board! HAHAHA.

Then in the 2nd round they took some dude that only a couple of other teams had on their entire draft board! They could have picked him up in the 5th round at the earliest if they thought someone was going to take him!! Ahh good times.

Love the Percy Harvin pick, although I would be happier if we'd traded up a few picks and snagged Maclin like the Eagles pulled off. AP, Harvin, Chester, and Berrian. We've got explosive weapons, unfortunately Childress has no idea how to utilize them and will continue running his craptacular predictable offense.

1st down - Handoff to AP 4-7 yard gain
2nd down - Handoff to AP 1 yard loss (because there's 9 guys in the box)
3rd down - Screen to Chester Taylor for 0-3 yards OR incomplete pass to anyone else because TJack sucks balls
4th down - Punt

That's the Vikings offense in a nutshell.
Chuck Norris once challenged Lance Armstrong in a \"Who has more testicles?\" contest.

Chuck Norris won by 5.

Man. I can't believe I blanked on just how TERRIBLE the Raiders blew the draft. What the $#)!@ were they doing? Good lord Al Davis is a MORON! They had BY FAR the worst draft of any team in the league. With their first few picks they insured they will be drafting in the same spot next year, if not worse.

The Howard-Bey pick blew my mind. My mind was so blown I forgot to comment about it.

Love the Percy Harvin pick. Can't wait to see Harvin, Adrian, Sage, and Berrian on the field at the same time. That's going to be exciting!!!!!!!

Man, if Stafford is a bust, with the deal the Lions gave him, it's really going to set them back even more.

Did news services actually write up Heyward-Bey's description or just use what they wrote for Troy Williamson?
