You say we should keep him, but you don't address how he can contribute *on the court.* It's good and all to have positive locker room presences, but at what cost?

The problem is that our roster is at 16-17 guys. We have to get rid of at least two players before the season starts. And then, we have to have three guys deactivated and/or sent to the D-League. Therefore, what is your case for keeping Howard over someone else that can better contribute on the floor? Who do we get rid of to keep Howard?

Thoughts/Explanation?
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I completely agree with College Wolf and like to add that Howard might be one of the few tradeable players we have on the roster. And the need to trade to balance and scale down the roster, makes keeping Howard - who does not want to be here anyways - even more implausable.

I do not blame Howard at all for wanting to leave and play for a contender. I do like Howard, I think he's a standup guy (anyone is who gives McCants those kind of compliments) and I would love to have him on this years team. But, as CW mentioned, we are over the roster limit and Howard does not want to be here...why should we keep him around?

I don't think the current team will be affected significantly from his departure from a leadership standpoint. Wouldn't knowing one of your \"Veteran Leaders\" doesn't want to be on your team damage a young player's phyche more than trading him in the offseason before the relationship is built??

Any way you cut it, I don't think Howard fits on this years team. Thoughts?
