@ Ryan:
Yes, Reggie will probably be my all-time favorite, beaten out only slightly by KG. The first jersey of an American basketball player I bought was his. And although my game does nothing in resembling his (not even if you consider that I might have 0,0000000001% of his Basketball talent) I really embraced his love for the away game. There is no better feeling than being hated by the home crowd. That was the reason I went into amateur sports. But anyways...
Today's Pacers are sadly nothing like this great team of old. If I think about it,they might be much like the T-Wolves of the last years, only with a poor man's imitation of KG and an even inferior bench (which is really something to say). I really hope that they get something together again someday.
@ T-Wolves performance:
I guess talent wise, the team has something to build upon and might be better than a few other teams, but it is arguable if our team has already the necessary chemistry to compete with other teams on a regular basis. It might help that half our team knows each other from Boston already, but with a new coach and a new (and young and somewhat out of position) point in Foye, I highly doubt that they will be able to play at the same level only two games in a row (no matter if it is good or bad^^). It's also important to keep in mind that much of our team might be talented but by far not developed, not mentioning at their peak, so for the upcoming season I think there won't be that many teams that will loose more games than we.
Especially teams like Memphis, Atlanta, Charlotte and Milwaukee have at least equal talent on hand, with more established players, better team chemistry due to playing together longer and partly even playing in the still slightly weaker eastern conference. And even considering only teams from the western conference, I find it hard imagining the new look wolves to beat out enough teams to sneak into the playoffs (Lakers, Warriors, Grizz, Hornets or even the Clippers if Brand returns after the All-Star break). So I do not doubt that a good position in next year's draft is a sure bet.
I couldn't agree more. I remember some away games where I would be taunted mercilesslt in High School. I loved those games.
